QUICK TIP: Overcome Sketch Problems

The other day I was chugging along in the latest design of the guitar body I used in the Slicer Video, when I hit a snag. For some odd reason, I wasn’t able to use a sketch I created to make the cutout for the neck. The extrude tool was simply not allowing me to use the sketch profile, even when using the long-click ‘select other’ tool! It was frustrating to say the least, but I set out to understand the issue more.

That’s when I remembered something I used in the patch workspace that I thought might help; the “stitch” command is a bit of a snitch when it comes to illustrating where gaps exist. Using this method, I was able to understand WHY the sketch wasn’t working for my extrude, but while I was there I figured I could use it to make the cut just as easily.

To understand what I did, and how, check out the QUICK TIP below:

Thanks for watching & reading! I hope this helps you to overcome a sketch issue at some point.

Cheers,
