Explore the role that BIM and new technologies can play in the future of manufacturing
When Andy Warren began the smart factory initiative for tire manufacturer Bridgestone in 2011, he expected the project to be done in six months. Twelve years later, the initiative is still gaining momentum and delivering new benefits. He shares how their use of Building Information Modeling (BIM), intelligent automation, VR, and other advanced manufacturing technologies have allowed them to build better factories with less waste and rework, bring new products to market more quickly, and adapt to the challenges of the COVID pandemic by putting data at the center of all their processes, from design and engineering to fabrication.
