Description

There is a lot of hype around cloud computing and there are many claims about whether it can really be transformative. While the total cost of ownership benefits have been proven, questions about whether the cloud can deliver the same level of functionality remain. In this class, we examine how the cloud has changed how designers and manufacturers are using information technology and extending the value of it to better apply lean principles in their business.

Speakers

  • Gavin Davidson
    Gavin Davidson, vertical market expert for manufacturing, brings to NetSuite more than 25 years of industry experience. In his current role, Gavin is charged with utilizing his understanding of the product, market place and customers to increase sales, improve customer satisfaction and retention and drive the solution maps for partner and product offerings. Prior to joining NetSuite, Gavin initially completed an apprenticeship in production engineering before taking on several consulting roles implementing a variety of manufacturing software products such as Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Experlogix and Visual Manufacturing. A native of Glasgow and living in Toronto, Gavin spends his spare time cooking and traveling and is an avid golfer.
  • Brian Roepke
    Brian is responsible globally for Autodesk's cloud Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution, PLM 360, as well as the on-premise Product Data Management (PDM) solution, Vault. He runs all aspect of the product development process including Product Management, Engineering, Quality, User Experience and all supporting roles. Brian has been with Autodesk for 10 years with 15 years' experience in PLM. Prior to his current role, he held various leadership roles including Product Management, User Experience and Customer Success. Before Autodesk, Brian was the founder and CEO of a company called truEInnovations, the developer of what is known as Vault today. Autodesk acquired Brian's company in 2002. Before starting his own company, Brian worked in the semiconductor and telecommunications industries as a systems engineer, designing automation equipment.
  • Jared Sund
    Jared Sund is with Autodesk, Inc., as an Autodesk PLM 360 software product manager based in the Lake Oswego, Oregon, office. Jared's main focus is on areas within Autodesk PLM 360 software, including the scripting engine, REST API, enterprise integrations, and administration/configuration, along with other areas of the tool. In addition to managing aspects of the Autodesk PLM 360 product, Jared is also called upon for his technical knowledge in developing different customer solutions. Jared came to Autodesk in 2011 after spending over 10 years supporting and implementing CAD, product lifecycle management (PLM), product data management (PDM), CAM, and analytical engineering tools for companies that include Xerox Corporation Ltd., L-3 Communications Holdings, The Raytheon Company, and Tektronix, Inc. Jared also holds a BS in computer science from Portland State University.
