    Thorsten Stern
    Thorsten Stern ist seit 2005 bei Autodesk im München als Technical Sales Engineer in der Region Central Europe tätig. Er betreute anfangs den Bereich Architectural Desktop bzw. AutoCAD Architecture, ist jedoch seit 2007 endgültig „Revit infiziert“ und damit auf technischer Ebene für die gesamte Bandbreite der Architekturlösungen zuständig. Zu seinen Aufgaben zählt die Betreuung der autorisierten Fachhändler, aber auch Beratung, Schulung und die Evaluierung von Workflows beim Kunden. Nach seiner Ausbildung im Bereich Maschinenbau studierte er an der FH München Architektur und betreute dort u.a. Übungen der CAD Seminare. Als freier Mitarbeiter und Angestellter in verschiedenen Architekturbüros und im öffentlichen Dienst war er sieben Jahre lang an der Planung verschiedenster Projekte im Hochbau sowie im Messebau beteiligt. Der Bereich CAD, 3D Konstruktion und Visualisierung wurde während dieser Tätigkeit immer wichtiger und interessanter. Neben der Fotografie liebt er ausgedehnte Touren mit Rennrad und Mountainbike, ist leidenschaftlicher Telemarker und Koch. Thorsten received his architectural degree from the Munich University of Applied Science. He practiced as an Architect in several architectural firms in Germany and worked also for one of the largest Building Owners in Germany, Free State of Bavaria. More than nine years ago he joined the Central Europe Technical Specialists Team of Autodesk. Based in Munich, he is responsible for the building industry, focusing on Building Design Suite, Data Management in AEC and visualization for architects. He benefits from a huge network of Autodesk customers, resellers and freelancing experts. Thorsten also works as a consultant for government in terms of BIM mandates and is a member of the board of experts in the Austrian Standards Institute. In his spare time he enjoys mountain cycling, teleskiing and mountaineering in the Bavarian Alps as well as photography.
