Description
SYSTRA expertise in bridge has started developing design capabilities for a High Speed Railway line and for an Elevated Metro line with the system integrated concept of the U-shape viaduct. We are now designing bridge structures for all types of transport modes including long-span bridges such as Chacao bridge in Chile, and road causeways such as The Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Causeway in the gulf of Kuwait. With the US-based company IBT, newly acquired in 2017, SYSTRA has reached in 2018 the 8th rank of the International ENR ranking for bridge engineering. This expertise is strategic to SYSTRA global capacity to deliver mass transit or rail infrastructure worldwide. That's why at the early stage of our BIM deployment we focused in developing internal solutions and design workflows that meet our clients needs and enhance our design efficiency and quality. This class will give you a global view of our internal BIM program for bridge by presenting our design solutions and project applications. The ambition of this program is to increase the efficiency of our engineers and the robustness of our design when creating the bridge assets and is aiming to provide to our client a digital twin of their infrastructure that is fitted for use during operation and maintenance. You will see how our bridge experts have embraced BIM in their design workflows from early stage to construction design using applications such as "BIM in One Click" for linear infrastructures or CABLOA for pre-stressing design. We will also share our feedback on 3D reinforcement design using Revit and its Sofistik plugin for rebar detailing and how to increase the efficiency using design automation. The end of the presentation will be dedicated to looking ahead, exchanging thoughts around application of AI or generative design to bridge, and sharing our initiatives on how to use BIM models for operation and maintenance purposes using our HYPERASSET solution.
Key Learnings
- Improve design processes with BIM
- Develop pre-stressing design using Civil 3D
- Build an Asset Information Model of a bridge
- Implement BIM in detailed/execution design phase using Autodesk BIM tools such as Civil 3D
Speakers
- VDVladana DARRASVladana is an architectural engineer specialized in the BIM sector with over 16 years of experience in the construction and architectural sector. She gains experience in civil engineering for 7 years mostly in bridges design. In 2014 she received her certificate for BIM Management, from the prestigious BCA Academy in Singapore. She joined Systra in 2016 and has been Head of the BIM Unit in the Systra's Technical directorate as well as Project Manager for Systra Group BIM Project, a global BIM deployment program. Her activities include the BIM deployment on the corporate level, BIM operational support for tenders. leading a team of BIM Managers and BIM Coordinators, responsible for the BIM Training program development. Follow up the transversal actions: Standard production, Internal communication, Collaborative platform integration, up-skilling etc. She has conducted the deployment and production of BIM on different regions Europe, Asia, Canada, UAE and variety of projects: Linear Infrastructure and Buildings (HSL, CL, Stations, Airport, Hotel, Industrial Structure, Administration, Underground Carpark etc.)
- Lucas GIBAUDLucas has developed a strong expertise in BIM technologies and data management on large projects such as the Grand Paris Express or HS2 MWCC. He leads the BIM Production business network bringing together the international BIM experts of the SYSTRA group (more than 30 referents and around 900 members). He is also responsible for the development of internal tools on business applications (mainly Civil 3D, Revit, Forge, ProjectWise, Excel) and provides international deployment / support. He is responsible for structuring innovation subjects for the SYSTRA group such as the register of BIM objects and is involved in the BIM4Asset group which aims to support the capacity of the SYSTRA group to create, manage and use the BIM data of railway assets during their entire life cycle. Finally, he has a very good understanding of the technical issues faced by operational teams due to his project experience as a CAD / BIM Production Manager, which allows him to organize technical support for CAD / BIM tools at SYSTRA group level.
