Mechanical-contracting operations rely on software, machinery, and advanced processes now more than ever. Integrating these processes into the business model is key to realizing the rewards of these technological advances. We’ll discuss the elements of early costing, estimating, modeling, prefabrication, modular construction, and washing models back through the estimating process. We'll also look at using Fabrication software content to generate internal manufacturing metrics and communications with business systems.

- DPDavid PikeyDave Pikey is the Vice President of Corporate Technology for The Hill Group, a $300M Chicago-based organization engaged in mechanical construction and maintenance of building systems – all with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. Dave joined Hill in 1998 as a design engineer and has been developing technologies and business processes in modeling, estimating, fabrication, modular construction, and business intelligence for the company since 2004. With current responsibilities including marketing and communications, Dave is often an industry guest speaker sharing his experience on leveraging technology in a collaborative environment to deliver a better product in the construction process. Dave has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Purdue University.
