Speaker

  • Jay Shoemaker
    Jay Shoemaker started working in a family-owned machine shop before and during the time that he attended Western Michigan University. After graduation Jay started with Simulation Moldflow software and then joined Autodesk, Inc., for a total of 31 years. During most of Jay’s career he has been involved in training, and since 2000 he has been the developer of training material for Simulation Moldflow software. Jay is the editor of the book Moldflow Design Guide, and he has managed the certification program for Simulation Moldflow programs since 2001. Today Jay continues to work with training materials and certification, and he works closely with Autodesk user experience designers and developers. Since 1985 Jay has taught tooling classes, conducted research, and published papers related to injection molding and simulation, and he is an adjunct assistant professor at Western Michigan University. Jay has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) since 1983 and has attended over 29 ANTEC conferences. In 2011 Jay was named the SPE Mold Making and Mold Design Division’s Mold Designer of the Year.
