  • Peter Strazdas
    Peter Strazdas is the associate vice president of Facilities Management at Western Michigan University (WMU). Peter leads a department of nearly 500 employees that is responsible for the planning, engineering, construction, and operations for the campus of 150 buildings spanning 8 million gross square feet. In his 34-year tenure at WMU he has also held positions as the construction administrator, director of Maintenance Services, and assistant professor of construction management. Peter served on the Michigan APPA Board of Directors for many years, including holding the roles of board president (6 years) and APPA secretary-treasurer. He is currently the president-elect for APPA International. He was governor of the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration Construction Commission; he is presently in his fifth term as mayor of the City of Portage, Michigan; and he served as the president of the Council of Governments in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
