A Tale of 2 Upgrades: Vault and Inventor

Description

Do you struggle with performing and coordinating your Vault software and Inventor software installations? Do you struggle with how and when to install, upgrade, or migrate your custom or standard Content Center libraries? Stop playing “choose your own upgrade adventure,” and attend this class! We will help you plan a methodical upgrade and rollout. What is the recommended and required order of operations? Vault? Inventor? Client? Server? This class will include how to update custom Content Center libraries while still having them available for the current drawings and adding new standard libraries. We will show you how to upgrade and migrate your Vault databases. We will discuss tips on using enterprise software deployment tools to update all clients in your organization. By the end of this class, you will be fully armed and ready with all the knowledge you need to upgrade your Vault and Inventor environment.

    I am a SQL/DBA specialist with Enterprise Priority Support. I have over 25 years of relational database experience in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. My experience spans both the administrative, development and support arenas. For the past 10 years I have done a significant amount of SQL support and training for customers. I have trained internal support staff in supporting customer databases. I am proficient in Database performance and tuning, backup and restore and replication. My experience spans multiple industries from manufacturing to advertising to finance. Throughout my career – regardless of my title the Database has been my passion and I have always maintained my activities in it whether it be through customer support, development or Business Analytics and metrics.

    Chris Bluhm has over 10 years of experience as a Tier 3 IT administrator. He has a deep breadth of experience administrating corporate networks, Microsoft SQL Server, VMWare, and large environments. He joined Autodesk, Inc., in 2014 as a product support specialist supporting Vault software and the Data Management Team. He uses his knowledge of Vault software and enterprise systems to help support large customers as they rollout, upgrade, and maintain Autodesk products.
