Beschreibung
We live in an extraordinary time when simulation and Digital Prototyping tools enable small teams of passionate people to pursue projects that only large corporations or governments could pursue a decade ago. Simulations allow tremendous savings on the physical prototyping and at the same time dramatically accelerate the product development process. Autodesk simulation products are revolutionizing innovation and are opening a complete new world of design where the only limitation is our own creativity. With the increased use of and reliance on simulation tools, it is extremely important to understand the precision of the results and have reliable information on how simulation results compare to the results of physical tests. In this class, we provide a detailed comparison of CFD software and mechanical simulations with the results obtained in our lab. Examples cover thermal expansion, wind tunnel, and heat exchange. This class also provides a tutorial on simulation tools.

- DTDmitriy TseliakhovichDr. Tseliakhovich is the CEO & CTO of Escape Dynamics and is currently leading the development of advanced aerospace and wireless energy transfer systems. Dmitriy is an active speaker, lecturer and writer. His work has been featured on CNN, CNET, Nature Magazine and other prominent media outlets. In 2010 Dmitriy presented his vision for the future of space exploration at the opening of the Autodesk University and since then he and his team have been actively involved with Autodesk community. Dmitriy has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Caltech and a M.Sc. in Physics from Carleton University in Ottawa. He is also a graduate of a revolutionary post-graduate program at the Singularity University - an institution co-founded by Autodesk to empower the cadre of young leaders to address grand challenges faced by humanity today.
- MHMatthew HanoverMatt is the Lead Research Engineer at Escape Dynamics - a revolutionary start-up focused on creating next generation space launch technologies. He has used a variety of Autodesk products throughout his career, including AutoCAD, Inventor, Autodesk Simulation Multiphysics and CFD. He has also been an active beta-tester of cloud-based simulation capabilities pioneered by Autodesk and currently leads a team developing a variety of aerospace applications and case studies that use Autodesk Simulation tools to advance our space access capabilities. Through this experience Matt has developed a unique perspective and expertise on how to take an audacious idea, lead it through initial analysis and preliminary design through extended simulation, optimization and finally physical manufacturing. Matt holds a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA and has experience of working at Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems and the Complex Fluids and Interfacial Physics laboratory at UCLA.
