Description

Building Information Modeling Execution Planning (BIMEP) is the most important step that few are taking in their current workflows. Architects speak of "standard of care" and "traditional scope" and contractors talk in terms of "time saved." Owners want to save as much money as possible. Can BIM really make this process easier? This course will try to tackle the big questions that BIM poses in our industry today and hopefully provide the answers necessary to get your next project kicked off on the right foot. Using a recent, very large, multidisciplinary project, we will show how the planning process should start early and be monitored throughout the project. This is not a "one and done" scenario.

Principaux enseignements

  • Learn how to craft an effective BIMEP—it's more than just the current Revit version
  • Discover the various points of interest throughout the project lifecycle
  • Learn how to communicate clearly and early in a project about the functional uses of the BIM
  • Learn how to capitalize on emerging industry standards around delivery

Intervenants

  • Clay Starr
As Esri's Architecture, Urban Planning & Design Lead, I am responsible for setting the overall strategy on how GIS enables designers and planners to radically improve their response to the challenges they face, deliver data-driven results, and generate new and better outcomes through the geographic approach. The digitalization of our industry over the last 2 decades through the data-rich BIM process has laid the foundation for this next evolution in design and it's an exciting time to be part of the AEC!
  • Clayton Starr
Clay Starr is the Director of Engineering Applications for Arcadis. With 19 years of experience in CAD/Building Information Modeling (BIM), Clay is responsible for managing the training, implementation, and support for all aspects of Arcadis' use of engineering and design technology, including BIM, parametric design, integrated delivery, energy analysis, and global collaboration. While consulting on more than 200 BIM projects of all sizes and types and training 600-plus employees globally, Clay has the inside track on what it takes to encourage people to embrace change. He works with executive leadership to align technology with the firm's strategic-design and engineering-application goals, and he helps company leadership understand the new workflow required for the transition into 21st-century delivery. He also has global experience with public speaking, highlighting the firm's technological vision and implementation process and goals.
