After a one-year hiatus, the CAD manager wish list is back, with a focus on the unique challenges that 2020 has presented fellow CAD managers. Did you have to switch your staff to a work-from-home environment? How did you handle it? What would you do differently in the future? How could you be better prepared if there’s a next time? Various work-from-home strategies, licensing issues, file access concerns, user management, even shifts in meetings and collaboration—we’ll tackle many topics that made 2020 a memorable year for any CAD manager. As usual, an Autodesk research team member will be in attendance, so this is an opportunity to have the CAD manager’s voice heard!

Frank MayfieldI have worked in various design and CAD Management roles with AutoCAD and Autodesk software since 1986 (v2.62). I am currently a Design Technology Consultant in Tulsa, OK where I provide CAD Management, customer support, and training for various Autodesk and design products. I currently serve as Vice President on the AUGI Board of Directors and I author the recurring “Tuesday Tips with Frank” feature on the official AutoCAD Blog. As a top-rated mentor for trial users of AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT, I have provided live, real-time guidance and support for over 2,500 new users in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Christie McAllisterChristie is the UX and Customer Research Manager for the Digital Experiences Team at Autodesk. She leads a team of multi-method UX researchers who cover digital properties ranging from the Autodesk Account portal to the Knowledge Network to the e-store to getting help and support. She also leads the research engagements at Autodesk University for all of Autodesk's diverse teams. She has a deep background as a multi-method researcher with a strong interest in customer-centered design and strategy.
