Description
Last year, the lecture entitled “Case Study: The Use of Infrastructure Design Suite for a Multidisciplinary Hydropower Project in Norway” won the Rookie of the Year award. The Smisto Hydropower project has now been developed further, and has become one of the first projects challenging the traditional use of 2D drawings as a design basis in a project. Benefitting from Revit software, AutoCAD Civil 3D software, InfraWorks software, the Dynamo extension, Navisworks software, and other technologies, every element of the project has been designed and structured in Building Information Modeling (BIM) models and provided to the contractor without the preparation of any 2D drawings. The lecture will focus on the design workflow when working with the models. We will look at how to facilitate for the contractors direct retrieval and utilization of information from the models, and we’ll examine the exchange/utilization of models in collaboration with suppliers, clients, and so on. We will show you how to structure your model into specified design levels, and how to achieve full parameter overview and control. This session features Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

- GHGøran Andre HansenGøran who works for Multiconsult ASA in Norway has been the key persons implementing new technologies to projects in the Hydropower department. Using Autodesk products such as Revit, Infraworks, Civil 3D, he has ensured the Hydropower department is leading in the use of Infraworks and the workflow between the different Autodesk programs with in Multiconsult and Norway. Gøran was educated at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and has a Master degree in Hydropower planning and design. He has experience with detail design of both small and large Hydropower plants, where he has made several impressive conceptual models by using Autodesk products in combination with 3rd party technologies.
