Description

Interact with a panel of Revit software API experts from Autodesk, Inc., to answer your questions and discuss all relevant topics of your choice. For anyone writing add-ins for Revit software, this is the perfect forum to better get to know the people who shape the APIs you work with, and explain your views, ideas, and problems face to face. Please note that prior Microsoft .NET programming and Revit software add-in development experience is required. This class is not suitable for beginners.

    Jeremy Tammik
    Jeremy is The Building Coder. He works with the Forge Partner Development team on Autodesk APIs and web services, providing developer support, training, conferences, presentations, and blogging on the Revit API and cloud and mobile technologies. Jeremy is a prolific author and passionate about cooperation and sharing. Jeremy graduated with degrees in mathematics and physics, worked as a teacher and translator of both computer and human languages and as a C++ programmer on early GUI and multitasking projects. Jeremy is fluent in six European languages, vegetarian, has four kids, three grandchildren, loves cooking, climbing, hiking, sports, nature, literature, adventure, survival, problem solving and challenges of all kinds.

    Mikako Harada
    Mikako Harada works as a Senior Manager for the Developer Technical Services team at Autodesk. She provides API support for AEC products. Prior to joining Autodesk, she worked as a researcher for the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. While at ETH, she worked with projects involving the development of web-based collaborative environment with the Swiss building industry and web-based visualization projects for business data archive systems, aiming to enlarge our knowledge by a means of visualizing a large amount of information. She was also a researcher at Engineering Design Research Center in Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Scott Fahlman’s lab (who is known as the father of Common LISP and the person who first sent the smiley face on the Internet), and Artificial Intelligence Cognitive Systems group at General Motors Technical Center. Her interests is in the areas of interactive techniques, optimization and layout synthesis.
  • Gopinath Taget
    Gopinath is a member of the Autodesk Developer Technical Services Team. He has more than nine years of experience developing and supporting AutoCAD® APIs, including ObjectARX®, Microsoft® .NET, VBA and LISP. Gopinath also has several years of experience in software development on other CAD platforms, including MicroStation®, SolidWorks®, and CATIA® mainly using C++ and technologies such as MFC and COM. Gopinath was also involved in the development of Web-based applications for Autodesk® MapGuide® and AutoCAD Map 3D. Currently Gopinath is working with AEC products (Revit, ACA) and cloud based solutions inside Autodesk.Gopinath has master's degrees in Civil Engineering and Software Systems.
  • Saikat Bhattacharya
    Saikat is a Senior Technical Consulting Manager with Autodesk Consulting, with a primary focus of integrations of enterprise applications with Autodesk’s Forge Platform and customizations of the Autodesk’s AEC products using the APIs. Prior to working with Autodesk Consulting, Saikat was a member of the AEC workgroup of the Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) team, providing evangelism, support, trainings and delivering technical presentations to the third party developers. He joined Autodesk in 2004 and has prior experience as GIS software developer and as a project architect with the construction industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master of Science degree from Rensselaer.

    Miroslav Schonauer
    Miro has extensive combined engineering and IT background, with a Dipl.Ing. in Civil and Structural Engineering (Split, Croatia 1988), PhD. in Numerical Methods in Engineering (Swansea, Wales, 1993) and 35+ years’ experience in commercial engineering software design, development and customization. His initial involvement with 3D AEC and BIM (before it was even called BIM!) took place between 1995 and 2000 within AceCad Software and its then-market-leading 3D structural steelwork modelling solution StruCAD, where he was leading the integration efforts with various 3rd party 3D structural analysis/design (QSE, Staad III, etc.) and Plant Design (Intergraph, Aveva) software packages through proprietary and neutral/public data formats. He's been with Autodesk since 2000, initially as Developer Consulting Specialist leading the AEC support team (AutoCAD, LDDT, ADT/ACA, MEP, Revit and Civil3D APIs) and currently as Senior Solutions (Software) Architect with Autodesk Consulting. His specialty have always been APIs for all Autodesk® AEC and BIM products, now extended from pure desktop APIs into the full APS cloud platform. He's conducted numerous training sessions, given many conference talks and provided direct technical support on such topics. For the last 18 years, he's been applying combined API, products, industry, software/IT methodologies and process analyses knowledge to architecting and developing consulting solutions that extend the functionality of Autodesk BIM/AEC desktop and cloud products/platform; and integrate them within various generic and /or specific customer workflows, processes and solutions.

    Augusto Goncalves has been an API evangelist at Autodesk, Inc., since 2008. He works with all sorts of technologies, from classic desktop to modern mobile and web platforms, including .NET for AutoCAD software and Revit software, and JavaScript application programming interface for NodeJS.

    Arnošt Löbel is a sr. principal software engineer on the Revit Dev. Team. He joined Autodesk, in 2006 as a new member of the growing API Team, and since his first day, the API has been his primary focus and passion. His major contributions to the API include the transaction framework, events, dynamic updaters, external services, and API safety firewalls. He is also an API adviser to several Revit Teams and he contributes to the API design those teams produce. He frequently contributes to several Revit forums and blogs, where he tries to resolve customers' trickiest of problems. Arnošt has a master’s degree in structural engineering, but has been focusing primarily on software development for a long time. He relocated to the United States from his home in the Czech Republic almost 2 decades ago. He and his wife now live near Boston, Massachusetts. If he is not writing Revit software code or helping others to write their code, Arnošt is likely to be found bicycling or talking about it.
