説明

Fusion 360 software is a complete product-design tool that enables users to go from concept to production with integrated CAD, CAM, and CAE technology. We hear that a lot, but in reality, what does it actually mean? Is it the Swiss Army knife of design software? Can it do everything? This class will take attendees through the complete design and manufacturing process, from initial concept scribbles all the way through to generating files for 3D printing and toolpaths for a computer numerical control (CNC) job. We'll kick off with bringing some drawings into the Fusion 360 environment and using them as template. Then we will move on to some basic simulations, carrying out a design change and generating some communication visuals with custom materials. Finally, we'll hit up the Manufacture workspace to generate some toolpaths for CNC machining and potentially fire up a CNC machine (using Fusion Team to share tool libraries).

主な学習内容

  • Learn how to take a product through the entire design and manufacture process in Fusion 360.
  • Explore workspaces other than “Design” in Fusion 360.
  • Learn how design changes can be cascaded to other subsequent processes in Fusion 360.
  • Learn about the different ways of collaborating in Fusion 360, such as sharing CNC tool libraries.

    Simon Leigh
Dr Simon Leigh is an associate professor of Engineering at the University of Warwick, where he leads the Digital and Material Technologies Laboratory. His research is undertaken in the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM, also known as 3D printing) and focuses on the development and application of novel materials and processes for high-resolution functional AM and multi-material AM. He has also led on the building of the Warwick Engineering Build Space (a collaboration with Autodesk), which is a multi-million pound creative space housing everything from hand tools and machine tools through to CNC equipment, 3D printers and robotics systems. The aim of the Engineering Build Space is to allow students to quickly realise their designs and build both their practical design and manufacturing skills working alongside a team of experienced 'makers in residence.'
  • Oliver Briggs
Oliver is a 4th Year Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Student, working towards his master’s degree at the University of Warwick, UK. Oliver first learnt Fusion 360 in a university class in his first year and after 3 years of progression, planned, created and delivered a set of Fusion 360 tutorial videos that were used to teach all first-year engineers at the university. Oliver also works teaching Fusion 360 part-time for Teach3D, an Autodesk Learning Partner in the UK, delivering online video tutorials. As a community manager on the Autodesk Ambassador Hub, Oliver helps to ensure that the hub runs smoothly, remains tidy and helps to create content for the Autodesk education community.
