説明

Urban corridor models can often be very restraining, and obtaining additional right of way (ROW) can be both costly and difficult. This instructional demo will utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D software and Subassembly Composer using an example project that has limited ROW while widening both the roadway and adjacent sidewalks. The demonstration will show how the corridor model was developed using auxiliary corridors to define proposed improvements. Custom subassemblies were created to model curb ramps, stairs, and curb transitions to meet criteria and constraints. Upon completion of this class, attendees will evaluate an approach to designing roadways with auxiliary corridor models and creating custom subassemblies to further define the actual roadway elements that will be constructed. Attendees will also be able to create a visualization of the urban corridor to help the public and reviewers understand the design.

主な学習内容

  • Discover elements of the roadway design using auxiliary corridor models
  • Learn how to create custom subassemblies that model driveways, stairs, and curb transitions quickly
  • Learn how to model curb ramps using auxiliary and proposed corridor models
  • Learn how to develop a surface that reflects the true design of the urban corridor and can be used in visualizations

Sean has over 13 years of experience with transportation related projects and is currently a Lead Roadway Engineer at Horrocks Engineers. After obtaining a bachelor's and master's degrees from Colorado School of Mines and University of Washington, Sean has designed roundabouts and various urban and rural roadway improvements for state and local governments. Sean dove head first into corridor modeling when his first design was designing a roundabout in Civil 3D 2013 and quickly learned how to use corridors to model the roundabout. Sean began creating custom subassemblies to assist in his workflow when the out of the box subassemblies didn't quite meet his needs. Lately, he has been developing workflows with Civil 3D, Infraworks, Navisworks, Recap Pro to get the most data for a project. Sean has attended Autodesk University for multiple years and has been an active member in the Autodesk Civil 3D Forum Community.
