Often when systems are installed or after systems are laser scanned, we discover issues that lead to rework. Augmented reality (AR) has been a buzzword in construction for quite some time, and it’s a technology that can improve the installation verification process—but it’s still not widely used. In this session, we’ll identify the advantages of using AR during the design phase and the construction phase, and for facilities management. This class will also identify the different ways to improve communication workflow through AR.

- SBSteve BaretI have more than 9 years of experience in the architectural and construction industries. I’m originally from Belgium. I have earned degrees in Automotive Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, and Construction Management. I started my career in construction working primarily on Healthcare projects around the country. Steve joined Mortenson in 2013 and has driven innovation on hospitality projects, sports, data centers, office buildings and higher education. Steve helped drive the implementation of laser scanning, virtual reality and is pioneering the field use of augmented reality which are his current focus at Mortenson.
