This class will compare the process of building a Revit software model from reality capture 3D laser scans versus building one from historic plans. Often clients assume that modeling from a plan is faster and cheaper than sending a scanning crew to the site. We look at several case studies and compare the numbers to show how and why 3D laser scanning is less expensive, faster, and more accurate.

Laser Larry is known as a leader in computer modeling, rendering, and animation, Laser Larry has received honors among his peers and clients for his expertise. He is an architect with over 20 years of experience in his field. Over the last decade, he has concentrated on providing LiDAR scanning of buildings in order to create precise intelligent models. He is a licensed Architect, registered in multiple states. He is the past Executive President of the Autodesk Animation User Group Association, and he is a past President and founder of the 3ds Max User Group in London, England. He is a current member of the American Institute of Architects.
