- TRTony RinellaDr. Calvin Kam is founder and CEO of Strategic Building Innovation • bimSCORE, dedicated to optimizing the value of the built environment through continuous improvement in decision-making, process, technology, and business. Calvin is the director of Industry Programs and a consulting associate professor at Stanford University’s Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE), where he specializes in virtual design and construction (VDC). He is a co-founder and senior program expert of the National 3D-4D-BIM (Building Information Modeling) Program with General Services Administration’s (GSA) Public Buildings Service; vice president for strategic innovation with Optima, Inc.; principal investigator with Disney Research China; and the appointed international expert for Singapore government’s Building Construction Authority. Calvin serves the American Institute of Architects (AIA) via the Board Knowledge Committee, the Center for Integrated Practice, and the Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP). Calvin received various fellowships from AIA, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) Foundation, as well as an Engineering News-Record’s “20 under 40” award.
