说明
Imagine you could design parts of your building with increased performance! Imagine you could produce them on-site and they could inform you of their performance! In this industry talk, we’ll introduce you to a case study that ticks all of the points above. We have combined manufacturing tools and processes to the construction industry norms, using Fusion 360 software and Autodesk Generative Design software to design a series of components to be key on the facade of a new headquarters office in the Netherlands. Each of them is unique, taking into consideration structural capacity, the fabrication method, material, and cost. Sensors have been allocated on them, letting us get real-time data to feed the next generation of components (if ever in need of replacement), know the facade’s performance, predict its behavior, and act on time. Get a glimpse of the complete workflow, from capturing the installation positions to fine-tuning of the individual elements and the final result.

- Katerina PapadimitriouArchitect Engineer engaged with design, construction and research, with experience both in professional and educational environments in Greece, Belgium, UK and Germany. Prior to Autodesk I worked as a project architect and consultant, combining business planning and branding to design and construction, mainly on retail projects worldwide. Before that I was a research associate at the Institute of Computational design, designing, fabricating and installing a carbon and glass fiber lightweight structure for the Victoria &Albert Museum in London. My interest in the advanced manufacturing methods and materials arose during my award winning (Peter Cook prize 2014) Master studies in UCL.My perception about architecture is that architects are the directors-scenographers of people`s lives. On the other hand, there is research. Strategic moves that aim towards the impossible, throughout new technologies, new materials, new morphologies and distinct approaches. My moto? - Nothing is impossible.
