ANIL MISTRY: Hello, everybody, and welcome to this class, How to Run Clash Detection in BIM 360 model coordination using BIM 360 design. My name is Anil Mistry. We have Scott Green. And we are going to show you how this thing work, or what's model coordination about and how we can use cloud work sharing using a Revit 201 in the model-- with the model coordination.

So let me give a little bit about myself. My name is, again, Anil Mistry. I joined Autodesk in 2014 as a technical support specialist. I am based out of Boston, Massachusetts office. And I'm supporting several SAS products, like BIM 360 field, blue, model coordination layout, and whatnot. I have used Autodesk product for many years. And I have a civil engineering background.

I graduated with a civil engineering degree from University of Massachusetts Lowell. And I work in industry for about 15 plus years. And while I was in industry, I was involved with many small to large sized projects. And with various different agency, like DOT or private client, and Fish and Game Authority and things like that. So by saying that, let me give this to Scott. He can introduce himself.

SCOTT GREEN: Hi, everyone my name's Scott Green. I'm an employee at Autodesk. I've been working at the Portland office for about five years. And I'm with the technical support team. I used to support-- when I first started I used to support Revit and Navisworks. I also supported AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D. Now currently I support ReCap and the BIM 360 line of products. That includes Team as well.

ANIL MISTRY: Thank you Scott. All right. So model coordination. Today we're going to talk about model coordination. And I'm sure a lot of viewers you have probably seen model coordination probably become, or have seen some webinars, or you're probably part of insider programs. So before I go into detail, I just want to ask you this question. How many of you are using a Glue right now?

Perfect. And how many of you have seen model coordination or you are part of insider program or seen webinar? That's good. Not quite a few, but I mean there's a good number of people. You guys are well aware of it. So the model coordination is a next gen BIM 360 [INAUDIBLE] basically right now. And there are still some functionalities development team is adding. But with this model coordination version right now, we have-- we can use not an issue or we can create an issue from the clash detection.

So you're probably wondering how to get here or how to create this grid. This basically is using model coordination model out of BIM 360 document plan folders. So anything you upload to BIM 360 [INAUDIBLE] model, BIM 360 document management in the plan folder, all those models will automatically generate clashes. And this will pop up populated this grid.

So I will show you-- basically I will show you step by step how to create the projects in account admin. And so basically what I'm going to cover to get to this portion here is the following. So I'm going to talk a little bit about BIM 360. And I'm sure a lot of you are all aware of it, what BIM 360 is. Setting up new projects and activity services and account admin. Manage project members and access and project admin. Create structure project folder and document management. And create teams.

I'm not going to go a little bit, like a lot about the creating team. I'm just going to show you basic steps how to create teams. Initiating design models using Revit 2018.3 or 2019. I'm going to use 2018.3, as I said earlier. Set up model coordination folder and document management in plan folder. Set up model coordination space in project admin. Upload models for coordination and filter models-- view in further clashes.

So what is BIM 360? BIM 360 is a unified platform that connects your project data in real time from design through construction. Now, the BIM 360 is sitting up on a Forge platform. And BIM 360 improves construction project delivery by supporting informed decision making throughout the project lifecycle.

Document management-- I'm sure a lot of you are using document management for your project right now for uploading different type of files, like a Revit model PDF. So basically the document management is a cloud based file repository and collaborates environment that allows team to manage blueprints, like 2D plans, 3D models, and other project documents.

Model coordination-- model coordination is provide a collaborative environment to publish, review, and run clashes on 3D model, which are uploaded to BIM 360 document plan folder. At this time, model coordination only works with the plan folder. Now, I know that when you use the Revit cloud work sharing, the suggested workflow is to use a-- upload your or collaborate a model from Revit to the project file folder. And you probably wonder how to use the project file folder to run your clashes using model coordination.

Our development team well aware of it. They are working on the workflow that works seamlessly from a Revit to document management to model coordination from a plan. But for right now, we have to do extra step. So you have to upload a model in a project file. And then you can do couple of ways-- you can download source files from a project folder, upload to a plan folder, or we can use a desktop connector, which I will show you later on, and I which-- I will use a desktop connected to copy project files from a plan folder and a generator clashes.

So that being said, let me go through this step by step creating accounts. So we can exit out. And I'm going to go to account admin side.

ANIL MISTRY: So in the account admin, we are just-- there are-- what we're going to do is, like, I know I lost a little bit of time here. But basically what I'm going to do, I'm going to create a new project here by clicking on Add. And filling out the project profile information like a project name, a project type, and then other information you can fill out like construction type, project value, contract type. But the most important thing is that you need to fill it out here is a project's start and end date.

So let's say we're going to start date today and extend out some random years. And then also you can fill out the project number, business units, see it you have any business unit you can create from the setting tab, which I'll show in a second. So if you-- also you can add the project image if you have any, and another most important thing is that you need to fill it out here is language, project language.

After everything is done, so click on the Save and Continue. And when you click on and Save and Continue, you will be asked to activate services. Now the services are based on your account entitlement. So if you have a purchase or if you have entitlement for all the services, then you will have an option to activate them for entire account, or you can activate a couple of services at this time and then you can go back and activated services that you want to activate the afterwards.

And when you click on the Active button, it will ask you to at least fill out one project admin for these services. And for BIM 360 document, you're an option to Copy Project Setting. So basically that will-- like say if you have a template project or if you have a mockup project, that you have a folder structure set up or you have permission set up and all that, you can select from this list here. And then it will copy all this project folder structure from the mock up folder or from your sample to this new project here.

So go ahead and hit Save. And now for this exercise I'm going to activate design collaboration and then add a project admin. [INAUDIBLE]. Let's say Save. And I am going to activate BIM 360 Glue. Basically when you click on BIM 360 Glue you have an option to select model coordination or you can select the classic Glue.

Now, the trick is that if you select model coordination or if you select Glue, and then if you decided to change later on for this project, you won't be able to do that. You have to create a new project and select either of the services, because that's how it works. You cannot switch back and forth. So you can do model coordination or you can do Glue. So I'm going to select model coordination. And then hit OK, or Finish.

So once the project is setup, I mean, you can add members to this project or selected project that [INAUDIBLE] created. You can add a member. There are two members already added, because they were added as a project admin. Can add the new members from the account admin member directory, so you can just start typing their name and they will pop up. And then you can select OK. And their email is already popular, because this user is already added through account admin members directory.

And the company is already assigned, because that company was assigned to this user in the account admin side. You can always change company here, you can change role. You can add role. Or you can change the persons whose entitlement, or let's say if I want have-- I don't want Scott Green to have design collaboration. So I can click on the design collaboration and it will be grayed out. So he has only his project admin now for document management and model coordination.

So you can change their role here for individual services. And then once you add to project, scarred will be added to this project. Now, if you click on the company tab-- or actually sorry, if you click on the More or select the user and click on the More, the next [INAUDIBLE] yeah. And then you will be-- you can enable or you can disable user, or you can rescind the invitation to individual user.

Or you can export it out the member directly from the project level as well. If you go to company, then you will see that there are three companies associated with this project right now. And if you go to services-- now let's say for this project if you decided to add any additional services, you have an option to add additional services from at this point. So that services will be activated for this project.

So go ahead and add for project management. Perfect. And then at this point, you can go to-- you can also go to profile page or you can go to [INAUDIBLE] additional services on the left hand side here, which I will show in a second. So go back to profile page please. And profile page you can add a project information here by clicking on the added. You can also Add the project name by clicking on the pencil button there.

Also you can click on-- also you can activate or inactivate project, or you can archive project. In once you click on it, all the-- the project becomes inactive or archived here. So now let's say we are not going to inactivate right now. So we're just going to go back, and then go back to services. And on the Services tab, there are option here. Like if you select document management, project management, or design collaboration, you can set up additional services from here.

Like if you click on the design collaboration, you can add a team here. Or if you are going to use a cloud worksharing workflow, then as mentioned in my layout there, or handout, or my presentation there, what are the steps I'm going to cover. So you can create a team here by clicking on add team. Put down the team name as HVAC. And once you click Add, it will automatically create two folder sets. One is for consume and one is for shared folder in the document management. We will see that in a minute.

But you can also add a team member here. You can add their permission by selecting their permission here as well. So we are-- go back. Yeah. Go ahead and type in HVAC please. Add. It's already cleared I think. So that's fine. We can take a look at it in the document admin.

So let's go back to now-- the project is created. So let's go to document management. So basically my project is set. I'm ready to upload a model or create a model coordination space here. So what I'm going to do is I have copied down the project already. So let's go to Project version 2.

So now in this project I already have created folder structure. And the folder structure, the way I created is I have created do the multiple folder for each individual trait. Now the plan folder and project folder and document management I'm sure most of you are aware of it. And there are two-- those two folders, those are two different things.

The plan folder, , the extract files, if you upload-- like let's say if you have a large PDF or you have a combined PDF. If you upload it to plan folder, it will extract it out to individual PDFs. If you upload Revit file, it will extract it out to your views, sheets, and et cetera. If you upload the same files to project files, it will not extract. It will be just one combined file and you can view it.

And model coordination only work with the Revit DWG file right now. And I know that most of you are probably questioning like why is that. By the development team is aware of it. They are working on adding more file-- or like NWD, IFC. So those files are going to be supported int he future. But I mean right now it's only the DWG and Revit. Can we hold on the question at the end please?

So I have created a folder structure for each individual trait, like architectural, electrical, [INAUDIBLE]. That's why I like it. Because I want to keep every single model separately. I mean, if you have a different workflow, you can use it differently. But I have created like work in progress. So what happened that my HVAC guy, let's say he upload a model from Cloud Worksharing to project folder.

And then I want to make sure the model was uploaded is what is correct before I use it for my model coordination. So I have created work in progress folder. So what I will do is I will copy down his model from HVAC project file folder to work in progress folder in HVAC work in progress folder using a desktop connector.

And once I verify that everything is correct, I will copy that under model or entire folder to my share folder, which is, I'm going to use it for my coordination slates. For model coordination. Now the setting of permission for those for each folders, you can do it like a few different ways. You can do it at a higher level, like you can do with an appliance folder level and project folder level.

And you can assign a permission by individual member or company or by their role. If you add a, let's say, start typing company, like let's say ABC or whatever the company that I have it in my list. Let's say AU 2018. So now if-- let's see, if I want to only have this company view and upload permission. So anybody who is associated with those that company, they will only have permission to view and upload.

Now, the permission that I set up on a plan [INAUDIBLE] inherited for my-- all the subfolders. Now, if you don't want everybody to have the similar permission, then you can set the permission by a folder leve. So let's say for HVAC person or a contractor, I want to see only their-- I want them to see only their folder structure. So I can just set the permission for them to view only HVAC folder right there.

So-- and that's about permission. I know there are a lot of stuff in the document-- help documentation is available for the permission. So you can review there. So now let's go back to the-- exit out of the folder settings. Now for uploading files, like I say, you can do couple ways. You can do direct upload files to plan folders by clicking an upload. And then select files. And then you can select file from your local file folder or your network drive, or wherever you have your file available.

And once you [INAUDIBLE] open, it will go through the process. It will extract and it will process file there. And then it will be uploaded for your model coordination space. Now, if you are-- if you have any link files, you can click on Upload and Link Files. And then you can select all your parent file with your child file or supporting file. And then once you do that, you will have to select, OK, which parent file you want to associate with your link file. And then rest will be your supporting file or child file.

And once you click OK, it will go through the process and it will upload. I'm not going to do all of my model upload here because it might take some time. So I already have uploaded them. But for cloud worksharing, this is what I'm going to use. Excuse me. OK, so I'm going to go to Revit. I already have this model open because I just don't want to waste so much time. So I already opened a model.

This is my electrical model for level 1. And I want to share this model with my document management folder. So what I am going to do is I'm going to click on the Collaborate. And then hit collaborate again. And with the 2018.3 I have a couple of options. I can upload my model to BIM 360 Team. Or I can do it with document management.

If you are using Revit 2018.2 or lower, than you can only upload your files to BIM 360 Team. If you are using 2019, then you can only upload to Revit to a document management project folder. So for my project is already set up in 2018.3, so I'm going to select BIM 360 Document Management. And then this is my Revit modeling. This is my account name.

And I'm going to use a test project that we just created. Actually it was--

SCOTT GREEN: Test three.

ANIL MISTRY: OK, test project 3. And I'm going to select Project file. I'm going to select electrical folder. And once I hit initiate, it's going through the process and upload my-- upload this file to document management. So it might take time. So let me go back here. I already have their file uploaded here. So now these files are already uploaded here.

So now what I can do here at this point, I can select all this file. I can download the source file and save it on a local folder or local drive and then upload it to my plan folder here. And then once I upload it to my work in progress, I reviewed them. And then if everything is fine then I'm going to copy those files to my electrical folder here. So that way I can just selecting this electrical folder here from my work in progress.

I can select Copy. And I can select the folder, the electrical folder. And once I hit Copy, it will copy all those models out of my work in progress and put it into my share folder electrical folder, which I'm going to use it for my model coordination clash deduction. So I already have those models uploaded here. So what I am-- everything is ready to-- ready here in my share folder and I'm ready to generate clashes.

So what I need to do next here-- I need to create, I need to create coordination space for my model coordination. So it will-- all this model will automatically calculate. The system will calculate clashes for all these models. So I will show that how to create that. So let me go back to my test project. And then when I click on the [INAUDIBLE] model coordination here, it will ask me that I need to create my-- the coordination space.

So when I click on create, and I can say put down my coordination space name. And then I can select the folder, which folder I want to use for my model coordination. So I select a folder from the list here. I'm going to use a shared folder. And I'm going to hit Create. And once I hit created, it's generating clashes behind the scene which we don't see, but it is already doing calculation with those models from that shared folder.

And once it's done, it will allow me to-- here we go. It says, OK, the space is created. And my folder currently selected is a plan shared folder. Now, let's say for some reason if you decided, OK, you selected the wrong folder, you don't want to use this folder. So what you can do is you can deactivate that. But what happens, once you deactivate it, and if you have already all the clashes [INAUDIBLE] or you are working on that folder in model coordination, all the works may get-- you may have lost that work.

So be careful when you do that. So I'm going to do [INAUDIBLE] activate that for now. Let's say, or I'm just not going to do it. And then once it's done, I can go click on the model coordination again. It will not show me anything because I don't have any model for this project. So I'm going to switch project here. And you can see that there are 38 models under models down here.

All the models are for my different discipline, like structure, plumbing, HVAC, by each floor. They are all listed here. And you can see that the contributor name, all the models-- I mean, in this project I am the only one uploading all the models, so you won't have any other contributor's name. But you can see different people uploaded the model and you will see their name here. You can see the updated-- uploaded date, and the last column you are seeing here is clashes that are associated with this model.

You can search your models by, let's say if you want to search for level three-- oops. Always do that. All right, then I can see that there are six models for level three. Also you can do filters under the right hand side here, like you can filter out by contributor. You can filter out by company. Or also you can filter out by date here.

And when you click on the clashes, it will show you the clash grid that I show you on my presentation. And this is-- like, I haven't done anything. It's already been calculated, it's already been you know utilized like you are-- it's showing you that, OK, I have like a level 1 HVAC versus level 1 architectural [INAUDIBLE] 456 clashes. And the darker the color you see, that color's showing you that that particular grid or group has higher clashes.

Once you click on the-- and it also, when you hover your mouse, you hover your mouse, you will see that, OK, I have a HVAC level 1 and architecture level one has 456 clashes. Now, if I-- the greed, they don't have a color, that means they don't have any clashes. Now, when I click on this 456, it will open up the separate window to show me, OK, this is a group. Has like 456.

So I can drop it down, I can see [INAUDIBLE] right now HVAC is selected. If I selected the architecture model, it will show me only 212 clashes. And also when I click Select on the model here, I can add a different model or I can just look at the review those clashes that are interested for which architecture and HVAC.

So let's go step back. What I'm going to do is I'm going to go and search for level three here again. And then I have-- go to select. So I have all these 455 clashes. And then I'm going to go to model here. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to add [INAUDIBLE]-- so I'm going to add other model here. For level three.

So there are six models loading. And I can see that there are six-- the third floor model with the six different disciplines model. And when I click on the clashes, it's giving me the group of clashes that are associated with the individual-- the model. Right now it's also associated with HVAC, I'm going to move to architecture model. Let's say I want to see clashes with the architecture model.

And then also you can drill it down by clicking on individual group. And then you can see that, OK, this group has like 32 clashes with the roof soffit. Now let's say if I am looking at this compound ceiling, that one has like seven clashes with four other models. When I click on it, it will isolate that only the clash that I am seeing it or I'm clicking it.

And at this point I have an option there. Let's say if I want to get-- if I don't want to see smoke detector, I can turn it off by clicking on a checkbox. And let's say I'm not worrying about this column here. So I'm going to hide that by right clicking on it. Now, the thing is that I can see that this compound ceiling has all the other-- like you know lightings, fixtures, in the future and stuff like that.

Now I know that this is not an actual clash. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to click on Not an Issue. Once you click on Not an Issue, it's already populating the title by [? your ?] clash name. So it's like, say, compound ceiling with the element ID. That comes from Revit. And then you can fill out the reason from this six or seven already pre-populated list here. I know there are only six options right now. And I'm sure in the future we will have many more.

So what I'm going to do is I'm going to select valid interface And say, it's not an issue. OK. And then one side, OK. This group is going to be removed from my clashes. So there will not be part of my clashes now, but it will be showing-- it will show up under clashes, but it will be under closed clashes. So let me exit out here.

And then if I click on close, You can see that the clash is there, I just created Not an Issue have become closed clashes here. And then you can when you click on it, it will show the detail about this clash. So let me go back to model again. I'm going to search again for level three. And then hit All. And I'm going to view.

So what I'm going to do is I'm going to only-- at this time [INAUDIBLE] see-- I'm going to remove a couple of model by clicking on Add/Remove. I don't want to see anything about electrical at this time, fire alarm, or plumbing. I just want to see clashes between architectural, HVAC, and structure file. So I'm going to hit OK. And then go select clash. And then I'm going to select this time HVAC.

So once you changed your model type, it automatically change the objects that are clashing with that model or that group. So let's say if I hit on HVAC, I see 561. If I hit on structure I see 353 clashes. So I'm going to select HVAC. And I'm going to see the rectangular duct with the four clashes with one model. So when I click on the rectangular duct with the element ID 732194, it will show-- it will isolate the object that is a clashing with the rectangular duct.

So there are four walls there clashing with this duct. So what I want to see, I want to see all the objects. Now I'm reviewing this model. And I need to figure out like what I'm going to do with this clash, how the HVAC guy or HVAC contractor can move this. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to see what can be done. So I can see that there is nothing in this corridor here. So if they can move out the duct so that will resolve this clash.

So I'm going to do measure to how much I need to bring it out. My mouse is troubling.

SCOTT GREEN: [INAUDIBLE]

ANIL MISTRY: So what I'm going to do-- I'm going to measure by clicking on the measure tool from the bottom here. And then I'm going to set up my unit and click on measure again. So click here. And right in this corner. So now I know that I need to move around one foot four inches out in the corridor. So that will resolve this clash. So what I'm going to do then, click on the issue here from the bottom.

And I'm going to select the duct. And put it when I select the duct it will put a pin on it. And this issue form will pop up with the rectangular duct name, with element ID, and this is a four other object. Now you can change the styling or you can leave the title. And also in the description field, they are showing you that OK, I have a clash with the HVAC and the architecture model. So now I'm going to put a note there saying that move.

And I'm going to assign to my HVAC contractor from the assigning name here. There are nobody here, so I'm being assign to myself. And then you can select the date. I want them to fix within a week. So I'm going to say OK, 28th November. And then hit click, create. It's going to create an issue. And that issue it will be-- you can view this issue from document management at this time. There are not an issue created for model coordination at this time. But those issue are stored in the document management. So let me go back to document management.

Now this issue that I just created is assigned to HVAC contractor. But there-- I can see it under my issue grid here. So when I click on the issue, and then I can see that issue is open and assigned to HVAC contractor and there is a due date and there is a document associated with that is also listed there. So now when you click on this individual issue, you can see that what's going on or what's listed here in the document.

So you can attach additional document to this issue. You can see the activity. So let's say right now is open and is assigned to HVAC contractor. When the HVAC contractor fix this issue and then mark it up as a-- like or they answer this issue, the issue will get assigned back to myself, because I created the issue.

So let's say if this HVAC contractor fixed this issue and already uploaded to my project folder here, and then they already updated the issue. And so now I'm going to do what I'm going to do-- they uploaded a file here. So the-- I can see that the level three HVAC is a version 2. They already uploaded. So what I need to do is I need to copy this file and bring it to my work in progress.

So what I'm going to do is I'm going to click on HVAC for work in progress. And I'm going to hit upload and file. And then I'm going to click on the BIM 360, which is my desktop connector. And then this is my project name. Not project, the account name. And then my project name is this. And then I'm going to select project file. I'm going to select HVAC. And then a level three, the model file. HVAC.

And as soon as I hit open, it's going to copy from project file to my plan folder. So you don't have to download the source file from the project file. Save it locally. And then upload it again to a plan folder. So basically it will save extra staff. I know that this is also extra step, but I think that the seamless workflow is going to come in the near future. So hit OK.

And then it's going to go through the process. And it will just upload that file. Just go and hit cancel. And then when I go to my-- the version 2 here, I can see that file is already uploaded. Not going to work in this one, because [INAUDIBLE] working-- OK, so when I click compare version and compare again, I mean I know this is a duct that was moved. So I'm going to select that.

And I'm going to see the difference between two version here. So I'm going to go back to previous version. And I can see that that was originally at the outside. So when I click on the latest version, I can see that the duct was moved what I had been told. So now I'm OK with that. And so hit OK. Exit comparing.

So what I'm going to do is I'm going to copy this level three model to my plan folder in the shared folder here in electrical-- HVAC folder. And then hit copy. So it will copy from working folder to my shared folder. And then it is already say that copy-- document is copied. So then I go back to my model coordination, that clash between the duct and the wall will not show up there. It will show as a resolved issue.

So when I go to select the level three here again, and then hit all, then view. So there are my-- this is my model for level three. So I'm going to click on the model browser. And I'm going to search for the model element ID.

SCOTT GREEN: Second one down.

ANIL MISTRY: And three-- this is not a finding. Anyway, but it will show me that live my duct was already moved out. So that way I know that this is already resolved. And once it's resolved, I can go back to my issue and then close out the issues. So that issue is already resolved. And once I close out the issue, I can say it's closed. And I can put down a note that-- OK.

And then at this point I'm done with this issue. The clash is resolved. So basically this is a basic workflow at this time with the model coordination. I know there are-- some of this stuff is-- I know you are seeing with the BIM 360 Glue and Navisworks is not there. But the development team is well aware of it. And they are going to go add more functionality in a future date. But for with modern coordination right now that you can do only issues or not an issues.

And you can view your cloches or you can basically see your aggregate model or like the federated model that you are seeing in Glue. But only thing is that you will not be able to-- like in BIM 360 Glue you can see creative-- one once you create a merge model, you can go to Merge Model tab and you can see your merge model versus is in model coordination you can just create the model or you can select, you can remove. And then you can identify, OK, this is the model that you want to see. So being said that, let me go back to my presentation here.

SCOTT GREEN: You closed out of it.

ANIL MISTRY: So you can do this-- the entire process in like five to six steps. And-- one more up, one more up. [? That one. ?] Yeah. So basically you can do this entire process in a couple of steps. So setting up new project and activate services, create structured project folder, and set up model coordination folder and document management. If you have already projects set up, if you have a folder structure set up, then you don't need to do that.

You can just, how do your coordination space or activate model coordination services in your project. Activate coordination space and upload your model for coordination. And once you go there, you can just see your coordination grid. So this is basically I hope this was helpful. And sorry for the goof up in the beginning, but I mean it was just something that went wrong. But if you have any question I will be happy to answer those. And go ahead.

AUDIENCE: [? How do ?] you [INAUDIBLE] plans to set up [INAUDIBLE] rules for clashes, so you could say [? is there ?] clearance between [INAUDIBLE] HVAC [INAUDIBLE] need to be 100 millimeters away from this [INAUDIBLE] wall, rather than [? hard ?] clash.

ANIL MISTRY: Correct, right. I think that that's-- you were asking about the clearance, right? Because I know in Glue, you can set up a clearance. Say, OK, I want to see clashes between these models for one millimeter or two millimeter, or whatever. In this-- right now is it not-- you don't have any option. So you can just not set up your clearance that, OK, want to see clashes between 5 centimeter or-- but it's coming in a pipeline. And it should be there. So I mean dev team is aware of it. Everything is not there but I'm sure it's going to be available in the near future.

SCOTT GREEN: And the man in red shirt and then the man next to him.

SCOTT GREEN: Is that? That was for team. The Revit communicator was for team. BIM 360 Team?

ANIL MISTRY: Yeah, so the 2019-- if you are using 2019, Revit 2019, then you can only use document management. And for-- if you are using 2018.3, then you can do use a team or you can use document management. But with the 19 you have only option to use document management.

ANIL MISTRY: Right, so let's say you upload a first version of your model, from a Revit.

ANIL MISTRY: Right, and then once you update your model in Revit to a second version, like let's say you made changes to your model and then you want to publish it again. So you have to go just head [INAUDIBLE] manage your model in Revit. Once you do the Manage model you will options, refresh, and it will automatically update that second version to the document management. Then you will see in document management the version number change. So it will be like number one to number two.

AUDIENCE: So is that always-- is that always going to be the workflow? I guess what I'm asking is, in the future, is there going to be a way for my model [INAUDIBLE] actually more real time in there [INAUDIBLE].

ANIL MISTRY: Correct. So when we have-- right now what happened when you do your update from Revit, it goes in a project folder. So it's not available for model coordination. So you have to upload from project file to planned folder. But when in the future when the entire workflow is available, like from Revit to model coordination-- document management and plan folder, whatever changes you make and when you hit Refresh from Revit, the model will be available in your plan folder. And it will be available for your model coordination. If you had selected the correct folder.

So that's-- then your model will be available live. Does that answer your question?

AUDIENCE: [INAUDIBLE] that's the toughest thing to explain to the user that [INAUDIBLE] is a snapshot in time [INAUDIBLE].

ANIL MISTRY: Correct. But right now, [INAUDIBLE] the workflow is not seamless. But I think once the workflow is available from Revit, it will be live. So like if whatever change you make there, it will be d as soon as you hit Refresh from your Revit, it will go through that document management and will be available.

And then you'd have like a unified scan or something like that. So it's all been structured, all indexed and merged together. But I wasn't aware that they removed that particular feature. Anil is the senior tech on Recap. We can ask him if in the latest update, because they just had a update not very long ago. And see if they removed that, if he was aware of it.

AUDIENCE: [INAUDIBLE] Once I installed it, screw me over. And I have a multimillion dollar project, and I have the scan and everything else and my design team waiting for me to give them the files. And I cannot do it. And we are falling behind.

Core Recap right now there's no new features. But it's still very much alive. We're not end of sale, we're not-- we're not killing it off.
