说明

Get insights from industry power users and the companies bringing you the tools to succeed digitally. We’ll talk about what add-ins are doing for electrical contractors using and building from Revit software, where they’re finding the value add, and what the future looks like. This is a no-holds-barred discussion on everything from design through prefabrication and out to the field. We want to see what it takes to be successful, and there’s no better proof than the evidence.

主要学习内容

  • Discover the value of spending upstream time on downstream workflows
  • Learn how to identify what is needed to bring an electrical model up to manufacturing standards
  • Learn how to extract usable data from a stock and an add-in rich model
  • Create a plan for how to take your design and drawing departments into the future

  • Matthew Tate
I have a passion for construction that doesn't stop when I get off. I spent my youth on a job site with my father and most of my adulthood behind the screens. Now when I want to build an at-home project or consult on how to build a stadium, my first course of action is to get a design going. I provide over 12 years of professional development with 6+ years of experiencing using virtual construction methods in manufacturing, facility planning and development, and commercial construction. Building things is literally one of my favorite hobbies and I feel lucky to get to do this for a living.

Shawn has been working for Continental Electrical Construction Company (CECCo) for 15 years as an Electrical Designer and BIM Modeler, and quickly established his role as a BIM Manager. He has worked on a variety of projects, although most of his experience has been in the Data Center market. During that time, he has seen the sub-contractor industry shift from using AutoCAD MEP for coordination, to embracing BIM to achieve benefits far beyond just a 3D model. He has been involved with assisting in implementing not only Revit, but also tools such as Point Layout and Laser Scanning. He is currently looking ahead to see how Mixed Reality can play a viable role for field construction in the future. CECCo is a premier electrical contractor in the Chicago land area and one of the largest enterprises of its kind in the Midwest.
