Did you know that a subscription to Revit or the Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection includes access to Insight, a powerful tool for energy performance analysis? Insight is a cloud-based simulation platform integrated with Revit that provides centralized access to performance data and advanced analysis engines.  With Revit and Insight you can generate building performances analysis of energy, lighting, solar or heating and cooling loads and other factors that affect building energy performance and use this information to inform design decisions.

Get started using Insight with Revit

These three videos will help you learn how to use Insight for energy performance analysis. This can help architecture firms meet sustainability goals, including the Architecture 2030 Challenge.

  1. Insight’s energy analysis can be applied to all models. This video provides a basic workflow.

2. Different widgets available in your Insight interface allow you to review dial or EUI ranges, view model history, adjust BIM settings. Get a guided tour of the Insight interface in this video.

3. Insight helps you quickly compare the performance of different model schemes and scenarios for your project. Learn how to create/compare scenarios and explore the model comparison chart in this video.

For architects, Insight is a powerful tool to help in designing highly energy-efficient buildings and meet your building performance or sustainability goals.  Realtime feedback helps you visualize and interact with key performance indicators, benchmarks, factors, ranges, and specifications, and make better design decisions. Use Insight to capture whole building and system interactions with full dynamic thermal energy simulation using DOE 2.2 and EnergyPlus.
