Autodesk recently released the Dynamo Extension for Advance Steel 2019, which helps structural engineers drive the geometry and behavior of Advance Steel elements from Dynamo.
The Dynamo Extension for Advance Steel adds the functionalities of Dynamo to Advance Steel, to help you quickly generate complex structures using Advance Steel beams and plates. You can assign materials, beam sections or user attributes from Dynamo to the generated elements to minimize the number of steps required for modeling.
In this article, we will explain how to download this extension (released to current subscribers) using the Autodesk Desktop App.
The Autodesk Desktop app delivers installations and updates for the products available with your subscription.
You can do this by searching Autodesk Desktop in the Start Menu. It should be one of the first results you see. Click and open your Autodesk Desktop App.
Once the Desktop App window is open, sign-in using your Autodesk account login info.
Once signed in, you will want to select the program to update. In this case, you will want to select Dynamo for Advance Steel 2019 from the list of updates.
Select the Update option to the right to begin the download.
After you have clicked Update, the Autodesk Desktop App will begin downloading and installing the new extension.
Once the download & installation are finished, you are all set.
The only thing left for you to do is jump into Advance Steel 2019 and experience the Dynamo Extension for Advance Steel 2019 by yourself!
