We released a number of security upgrades for Revit that affect Autodesk® BIM 360® Design (Revit® Cloud Worksharing/Collaboration for Revit®), Cloud Models for Revit®, certain cloud connected features and Autodesk® Revit® 2014 to 2016 software single-user subscribers. These updates are important to maintain the full functionality of Revit. The Revit team strongly recommends that you always stay up to date with the latest updates for your Revit release year – in order to keep current with the latest quality upgrades, security updates, and, of course, functionality.
What are the recommended security updates for Revit & Revit Cloud Worksharing?
To align with industry best practices for security and data integrity, Autodesk Identity and the Revit Cloud Models Service will move to Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 and stop supporting TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on August 3, 2019. Action may be required to update your software to maintain access to certain product functionality or features.
What should I do to maintain connectivity?
To maintain connectivity, follow the instructions in the Autodesk Knowledge Network (AKN) article linked below. If your software is affected and is not updated, connectivity issues may occur as of August 3, 2019. Review the READMEs for each update before installing the updates.

Is the order of patch installation important?
For the most part, the order in which patches are applied to a machine does not matter. The exception is the installation of the Personal Accelerator (PAC) update for .NET 4.7. As there is only one installation of PAC on a machine and a PAC update is included in the Revit 2017-2018 patches, the .NET 4.7 update is optional if you install one of the Revit 2017-2018 patches. We encourage installation of this update on machines running .NET 4.7 as this will limit the need for future updates by enabling the use of the highest TLS version presently available.
What if I miss the August 3, 2019 deadline?
For most Revit versions, your installed Revit client will no longer be able to communicate with the Revit Cloud Worksharing servers. This means that operations like sync with central and model open will not be available until the required patches are installed. Once your Revit version is updated, you will once again be able to access your BIM 360 Design data.

How do I know if my updates were successful?
You can find build version numbers for installs in the Revit release-specific TLS update articles. To validate your updates, after running the installer, verify that the installed version matches the version specified in the TLS update article.
Can this update be deployed with an enterprise software deployment tool like SCCM?
Yes, Revit updates are SCCM-compatible.
