If you’ve been to Autodesk University (AU), no doubt you’ve heard inspiring stories of Autodesk customers doing amazing things with the software. If you have not been to AU, we have you covered—but it’s a fantastic event that you really should try to attend.
Fortunately, those customer success stories are not just reserved for a presentation at AU. Autodesk has a whole page dedicated to telling outcome-based customer success stories. Take a few minutes to read a story or two and be inspired by how our customers are making the most of their Autodesk software.
These stories are a great resource, but taking the next step—using one of these stories to influence your own work—may be challenging. It is one thing to read about someone doing great work, and quite another to figure out how you can apply those tools or processes to your own projects. The Revit Learning Content team is here to help.
Our advanced workflows pick up where the success stories leave off—providing a practical guide for you. We explain exactly which tools are used and how they are applied to achieve results. By following one of our advanced workflow topics, you can try the tools and apply the concepts in your own workflow.
Our first advanced workflow, published with the 2020.1 release of Revit online help, builds upon the customer success stories about D/P/S and NBBJ. Both architectural firms are using Revit and Autodesk Insight (energy analysis tools) to make their designs more energy efficient. This is part of their standard practice, not an extra service for clients who ask for it. This both saves their clients’ money and reduces their designs’ ecological footprint, which benefits us all.
The Energy Analysis with Revit and Insight advanced workflow shows you how to build your Revit model, set up the energy settings to meet your project needs, and run an energy analysis on your design. After you run the analysis, you use the Insight dashboard to change factors of the design that affect energy performance. Then, you can run different scenarios to determine the best design decisions for your project and its energy consumption.
