Cloud-based workflows and better project delivery for infrastructure professionals

We’re excited to announce that Autodesk’s fastest-growing cloud solution expands to include Civil 3D. Starting today, BIM 360 Design’s newest functionality, “Collaboration for Civil 3D” is now available along with Civil 3D 2020.2. Collaboration for Civil 3D enables project teams—whether within one firm or across multiple firms—to collaborate securely on Civil 3D projects and store design files, data shortcuts, and external references in a common data repository.

Project teams can work with each other at any time and from anywhere, regardless of team locations and disciplines, including architects, engineers, and contractors. With BIM 360 Design’s Revit Cloud Worksharing and Collaboration for Civil 3D on the same platform, designing airports, rail stations, and other complex projects with vertical and horizontal structures is simpler and more efficient. Civil customers can also perform their day-to-day data management activities in the same place. This is a leap forward to further meeting our customers’ changing needs and we’re just getting started. What customers are saying

“Collaboration for Civil 3D on BIM 360 Design has proven to align our site development and civil design teams so they can use BIM 360 holistically across all disciplines. By expanding the collaboration capabilities of BIM 360 we can align with other disciplines in real-time at a point in the lifecycle when decision making is key. This will ensure we’re in immediate step with all disciplines including civil, which will benefit the entire project team.”–Russ Dalton, AECOM’s BIM Director for the Americas.

“The ability to incorporate horizontal design with vertical design teams has made a monumental impact on making the right decisions for our partners at vital moments during the project life-cycle.”–Stacey Morykin, Design Technology Manager, Pennoni

“We’re looking forward to Civil 3D + BIM 360 to enable our Revit and Civil 3D project files to reside in a common location. Users of both programs will be able to efficiently leverage new cross-platform tools & functionality now that the files will be more easily accessible. Collaboration and drawing review can now be done using the same markup & commenting tools, versus past workflows in which reviews/markups of Revit and Civil 3D drawings were handled using different methods. This will provide more consistency in our project execution and improve the overall quality of projects for our clients.”– Rob Swanson BIM Conveyance Lead, Black & Veatch
