What’s new in Autodesk Revit 2022.1? More useful features that improve your quality of life when working in BIM. The release of Revit 2022 in April responded to feedback from you, our customers, and delivered a popular feature set representing over 8,000 votes on Revit Ideas.
With the release of Revit 2022.1, Autodesk is delivering even more capabilities honed to the way you work. We’re making it easier to document your BIM workflows. We’re improving how Revit connects across products and project phases. And we’re giving your productivity a boost, with better performance and common sense updates to time-saving tools.
Make the upgrade today! Log in to your Autodesk account to download the newest version of Revit or ask your license manager to deploy Revit 2022.1 to your account. With that, let’s dive in to the fun stuff!
Clarify design intent with greater ease and accuracy.
You choose BIM because updating document sets is tedious. BIM can make it better, and the Revit team continues to lean into making documentation easy and automated. Fewer keystrokes, cleaner project setup, better use of the billable hour, and less stress trying to pump out project deliverables as projects evolve, iterate, and change hands.
For Revit 2022.1, an array of new and improved features reduce manual effort, including more flexibility in creating Family Parameters. Small but helpful upgrades, like Snap-to-Midpoint and Align-Lock features, make placing, measuring, and sketching more accurate. There is also more automation for MEP and Structural engineering workflows, along with a duplicate sheets feature sourced directly from Revit Ideas, saving time for everyone using Revit.
Fast and accurate design to documentation workflows are what make Revit, well, Revit. With your feedback, we’ve strengthened support for quality assured design and construction deliverables.

Connect your workflows across products and project phases.
Your teams want to take advantage of all that AEC software has to offer. That’s why we’re improving interoperability at every stage of a project, starting with a better connection between Revit and FormIt Pro for early-stage design.
Revit 2022 introduced 3D Sketch with FormIt Pro to AEC Collection workflows, improving the connection between form-making and documentation. With 2022.1, we built out the functionality further, with the ability to share and coordinate Revit Level data with FormIt Pro. For more on what’s new in FormIt, check out the release blog post for FormIt Pro 2022.1.
This release also supports linking Rhino 7 and SketchUp 2021 files, and has improved import/export capabilities for CAD formats like STL and OBJ. For openBIM, Revit 2022.1 has integrated the Open Design Alliance (ODA) Software Development Kit (SDK), which will improve how Revit handles large IFC files.
We’re connecting Revit seamlessly to the CAD and BIM tools you use everyday, so less design data is lost in translation, and you enjoy smoother handoffs between teams and project contributors.

Work with a better BIM engine.
Autodesk is leaning into making Revit faster, more reliable, and more predictable—all so you can be more productive. Revit 2022.1 takes this on in a myriad of ways, including improved performance in how you Find, Select, Edit, Load, Host, and Rehost elements within the modeling environment.
A few stand-outs include: Find in Project Browser, sourced from Revit Ideas. More work on Split Schedules Across Sheets, a Multi-Select function for Loading Autodesk Family, and the ability to load any Synced Version of a Model shared in the cloud all offer incremental improvements in important areas of function.
Revit 2022.1 takes another step forward in supporting the process of BIM: documentation upgrades to save time and effort, more flexibility in your choice of tools, and a more functional, stable, and performant software for your BIM workflows.
