Improved productivity for editing Compound Elements
We are always looking for new ways to streamline how you design and model. Thanks to your feedback, we’re happy to reveal that in the Revit 2025.3 release, users are now able to duplicate layers within the Edit Assembly dialog for all compound elements like walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, and toposolids.
Previously, users needed to manually create, add wall definitions, and reposition each layer, a process that was both time-consuming and prone to errors. With the new duplication capability, users can now quickly copy layers with their associated properties, ensuring consistency and accuracy across different compound elements. This enhancement significantly reduces time and improves efficiency when creating and modifying complex assemblies in Revit.
In-canvas spell check
You asked for it, we’re delivering! Implementing another community-requested idea, Revit’s in-canvas spell check is now available to enhance your documentation process. Whether you are adding text or keynotes, this new capability will help ensure that your documentation is free from typos and misspellings, improving overall quality and professionalism of your project.
In the fast-paced environment of architectural and engineering design, attention to detail is paramount. The introduction of in-context spell check directly within the Revit canvas addresses a crucial aspect of documentation accuracy. No longer will users need to rely on external spell-check tools or manually proofread their work for errors. Instead, the spell check functionality is seamlessly integrated into the workflow, providing real-time feedback as you type.
Recenter room reference lines and room tags
Throughout the design process things shift and we know that oftentimes, it is a meticulous process getting your sheets to presentation quality. With the Revit 2025.3 update, we have added another one of your requests to help speed things up for your deadlines. You’re now able to efficiently realign room reference lines and associated room tags to the center of the room geometry.
Quickly manage your Revit add-ins
We understand that add-ins are part of your workflows, that’s why we’ve made them easier to manage. The Add-In Manager allows you to identify all installed add-ins for each version of Revit where you can enable or disable individual add-ins before opening Revit.
Additionally, you have more visibility on critical insights like the load time of each add-in so that you can make easy and informed decisions about which add-ins may be reducing the time for you to get to work in Revit.
Also in recent release:
- Revit 2024.3 is now available, improving stability and fixes schema conflicts seen in earlier versions of Revit 2024
- Content Catalog, which launched in August, now expands to our friends and colleagues working on European and Australian hubs
- The Autodesk Data Connector for Power BI integrates granular design data from Autodesk Data Exchange into Power BI, enabling BIM and VDC managers to create detailed dashboards and reports for real-time project insights. This integration supports efficient project coordination and communication by auto-updating design data to avoid outdated plans and reduce rework. Additionally, the Navisworks Connector for Autodesk Data Exchange enhances coordination workflows by reducing file-based dependencies and standardizing data exports, ensuring consistency across applications within Autodesk Construction Cloud.
As always, thank you for your feedback and keep it coming! AIA 2030 Direct Data Exchange Workflow
Set benchmarks for carbon analysis with Autodesk Revit and Insight
Recent climate data reveals that merely reducing carbon emissions is not enough; we must aim for net zero emissions by 2030 through urgent, collective action. The built environment is responsible for about 40% of global emissions, placing architects, engineers, and owners at the forefront of this challenge. Over 1,300 firms have already committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
To facilitate this, the AIA Design Data Exchange (AIA DDX) allows AEC professionals to easily benchmark their projects against industry standards and track their progress toward a carbon-neutral future. Now, firms aligned with the AIA 2030 goals can leverage a streamlined, automated process for reporting project data through the integration of Insight and AIA DDX.
Today, Insight has an automated connection that enables AIA 2030 committed firms to report their project and portfolio performance to the DDx directly from Autodesk Insight. This automated process between Insight and DDx eliminates the need for manual data entry and duplication of effort, encouraging performance analysis and more frequent reporting throughout the design process.
Autodesk Insight is now available as an entitlement with Revit and AEC Collection subscriptions.
MEP Content Editor
Within Revit, there are very separate and distinct concepts of “design” and “fabrication” parts, each with unique data, visibility, and behaviors. Autodesk’s goal is to work towards harmonizing these components to facilitate better and faster information flow among stakeholders. The launch of the MEP Content Editor is a significant step towards this goal, modernizing the use of fabrication parts to make them more accessible and useful for a broader range of users within Revit-based workflows.
The Fabrication components, like MEP Fabrication Pipework and Ductwork, offer detailed and standardized functionality, including better control over fitting angles, intelligent connectivity, and insulation specifications. The MEP Content Editor enhances the user experience by enabling more users to leverage these advanced capabilities, supporting efficient end-to-end workflows and meeting tight project deadlines.
This entitlement is now available to all Revit users, whether through a standalone subscription, a collection, or Autodesk Flex. It is supported in Revit versions 2022-2025.

Partner Spotlight:
Case Technologies and Autodesk Partner to Preserve History
in Volterra, Italy
For nearly a decade, the Volterra Detroit Foundation, with the support of Case Technologies and Autodesk, has hosted an annual digital preservation workshop in Volterra, Italy. By bringing together practitioners and technology partners specializing in reality capture, the Workshop seeks to preserve Volterra’s historical and cultural treasures.
In this time-lapse video, Case Technologies’ Director of Services Mark Dietrick, who serves also on the board of the Foundation and is a key facilitator of the Workshop, guides us through a typical digital preservation project for the Chiesa San Giusto, a nearly 500-year-old structure still in use for religious services today.
Through the use of laser scanners, LIDAR, drones, and traditional in situ research, the Foundation is using the technologies of today to unlock a deeper understanding of the past and preserve it for future generations.
