I was working in the lab late one night, when… I discovered that I could make Halloween decorations with AutoCAD and a laser engraving and cutting machine. Over on Instructables.com (also an Autodesk property), site member Beatriz AR has put together an 8-step guide to creating your own spooooooky cutouts using AutoCAD and an Epilog laser engraver. Considering the last two steps are “Press print” and “See the results,” the process is actually even easier than it sounds!
Go from screen…
To scream…
In no time!
Depending on how creative you’re feeling, you can draft your own designs, or download some ready-made creations. Either way, it’s probably way easier than making your own costume (unless you’re going as a Halloween AutoCAT, which we very highly recommend).
Instructables.com
Not familiar with Instructables? It’s “a place that lets you explore, document, and share your creations.” You can find member-created guides on everything from cooking, crafting, home and improvement, to game design, programming, and the Internet of things (IoT). They even have an entire Halloween section! Our advice? Check out the site, get your creativity going, and don’t look back… at least until it’s time to make a Thanksgiving centerpiece.
