Improve Project Visibility with Autodesk Construction Cloud Partner Cards

Construction teams today utilize a variety of tools and devices to manage projects, and it's common for project stakeholders to use apps on their phones and computers (sometimes switching between platforms) throughout the day.

Just as the number of software applications has ballooned in our personal lives, it has also grown substantially in construction. There's nothing wrong with using multiple technologies; however, problems arise when teams don't have a clear and cohesive view of information coming in from these various sources.

When data ends up scattered across different apps, it's difficult to find important project information. Siloed data like this makes it more challenging for teams to get on the same page and move forward with projects.

Leverage Insight dashboards in Autodesk Construction Cloud

Insight dashboards in Autodesk Construction Cloud give you the ability to visualize all your project data to break down siloes, create a single source of truth, and efficiently move your projects forward.

With the capabilities in Insight, you can create custom dashboards and share them with other project stakeholders, either at a project or company level, thus helping you control who can access information.

To customize dashboards, simply select from over 150 Cards in the Card Library including Cards for integration partners’ applications such as site camera software, ERP solutions, scheduling tools, and more.

A look at some popular Partner Cards

Curious to learn more about the Partner Cards you can include in your dashboard? Here are examples of some popular integrations and how they bring value to your team:

Leverage EarthCam to view live jobsite imagery directly within Autodesk Construction Cloud

The EarthCam Partner Card improves visibility into your jobsites, while streamlining how you generate reports and share information.

View live jobsite cameras, time-lapse, and imagery from EarthCam. The EarthCam Partner Card provides:

  • Image Archives
  • Live Video
  • Timelapses
  • Image Archives
  • 360 Site Walkthroughs
  • Augment Digital Twins with Imagery
  • AI Object Recognition from Billions of Data Points

There's no need to log into a separate website to view what's happening on the jobsite. With EarthCam's Partner Card, you can see everything in your Autodesk Construction Cloud Dashboard.

Generate Autodesk Build Issues or RFIs directly from EarthCam imagery. All of EarthCam's integrated Autodesk Construction Cloud sharing tools are available inside the Partner Card. Spot an issue you need to document? Markup the image and create an Autodesk Build RFI from inside the EarthCam Partner Card in the Autodesk Construction Cloud dashboard.

View AI-generated reports. This Partner Card also makes it easy to create and access reports. View AI-generated reports of jobsite activity, review safety violations generated by AI proximity alerts, and even compare BIM to the as-built conditions of the jobsite without ever leaving Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Incorporate and view 3D model components with EarthCam imagery. Rather than using multiple websites to see model components and EarthCam imagery, you can now view them all using Autodesk Construction Cloud.

“Through our long-established partnership with Autodesk, we’re committed to adding as many new image integration features as we can, said Brian Cury, CEO and Founder of EarthCam. “We’re proud to empower VDC teams with visual data that improves collaboration, mitigates project risk and enables data-driven decision-making from one powerful platform. Our new update to Autodesk Construction Cloud is focused on supporting teams by delivering useful visual data and unique perspectives of digital twins to gain transparency and win back time.”

Cost-related hours and quantities are visible on dashboards via Riskcast

Projects take time and money. To minimize overruns and delays, you need to have a strong handle on the resources invested in a project. This is where Riskcast comes in.

Get real-time data on all hours, quantities, and costs. Capture hours and quantities in Riskcast, then export them back to Autodesk Build to compare estimated and actual performance.

From there, you can view hours and quantities in Riskcast directly within an Autodesk Build Insights or BIM 360 Project Home dashboard.

"We're excited to offer an out-of-the-box integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud. Labor and equipment hours, along with installed quantities, can be captured in the field using Riskcast and transmitted immediately into Autodesk Build," remarks Alec Thomson, CEO at Riskcast.  "With a few simple steps, any customer of Riskcast and Autodesk Build can quickly harness the power of real-time updates from the field within their Cost Management tools in Build and then view this information directly on a dashboard."

Extend dashboard reporting with customizable embedded Business Intelligence tools

If you use business intelligence or analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Toric to create custom dashboards for company-specific targets and KPIs, you'll love the fact that they work seamlessly with Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Incorporate Power BI into Autodesk Construction Cloud dashboards. You can embed your Power BI or Toric dashboards directly into your Autodesk Construction Cloud dashboards.

This means you'll be able to see your company KPI analytics within the context of other dashboard cards.

Share custom dashboards with ease. Creating custom dashboards and sharing them directly with relevant team members extends the visibility of Power BI and Toric dashboards to team members who don’t typically have access to Power BI or Toric or want to only see certain dashboards.

Leverage dashboard templates. Another cool thing about the Power BI card is that if teams use Data Connector to extract data from Autodesk Construction Cloud into Power BI templates, you can see those template dashboards within Insight and share those views with whoever needs them.

Let's say a Project Manager uses the Assets Power BI template in Data Connector. Now, they can make those dashboard templates visible directly in Insight so the rest of the team can get access.

"With Insight dashboards, we developed a great set of out-of-the-box Cards that teams can use to get started tracking and analyzing their data," explains Manu Venugopal, Senior Product Manager at Autodesk Construction Solutions.

"However, we know that when it comes to data, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Every company has their own KPI's or metrics they benchmark against and often leverage robust business intelligence tools such as Power BI to see those visualizations.”

“That is why the Power BI card is so useful—it brings together dashboards built in Power BI so teams can see those analytics in the context of other embedded integrations and our pre-built cards."

Final words

The first step to making data more actionable is to improve its visibility. EarthCam, Riskcast, and Power BI are a few examples of how you can make it easier to do just that. Partner Cards enable you to customize visualizations across different construction solutions, so you and your team can make smarter decisions.
