Building Connections: Autodesk Construction Solutions ANZ Roadshow Wrap Up

In recent times, COVID has pushed everyone further and faster into the world of digital communication, and remote has become a key word to describe the way we work. But let’s be honest, there’s nothing quite like human connection.

With the skies and borders now open once again, a four-city roadshow represented a perfect opportunity for the Autodesk team to meet clients face-to-face for the first time in several years.

Over two weeks in late August, the team at Autodesk toured four cities across Australia and New Zealand in a hectic—but exhilarating—roadshow. For many of the local technical staff and members of the customer success teams, it was a chance to meet people they’d spoken to plenty of times yet had never actually seen in the flesh.

The aim was to hear from customers about how they use and benefit from our products. We wanted to know what they liked about our products as well as showcase what future iterations might look like.

In total, close to 200 customers joined the Autodesk team at sessions in Brisbane, Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. It was an opportunity to listen to presentations, engage in Q&A with a panel, and give our customers a chance to hear from and learn from industry peers. We also organised networking events to let people meet the team at Autodesk and get to know others in the industry.

What the future holds

As part of the sessions, Autodesk Group Product Manager, Matt Burness, flew in from California and gave the attendees at all four sessions a real insight into how our products are designed. His presentation included an introduction to Autodesk Bridge and how it offers a way to share information across projects or accounts that will improve collaboration, reduce rework and provide better control and management of project information.

We also showcased an overview of the Autodesk Construction Cloud and the 300 improvements made to the products over the last year to improve performance, simplify workflow configurations and make access to data easier.

In the spirit of connection, we invited customers to share the stage with us and present their digital transformation journeys to the broader group, as well as participate in a Q&A panel.
• Wiley’s Brett Wiskar spoke about the importance of standardisation in helping to deliver sustainable projects.
• Downer NZ’s Karl Henderson shared how the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform facilitates the company’s digital journey.
• Beca’s Tim Mumford spoke about how critical digitally supported ways of working and innovation are to the progress of the construction industry.

From the presentations and discussions at these roadshows it was clear that the ultimate goal for our customers is to be future ready. However, the path to that end goal will vary depending on where companies are starting from and where their immediate priorities lie. As for us at Autodesk, we look forward to being their partner throughout their journey.
