Henry Nutt III is a Preconstruction Executive at Southland Industries, where his primary role is to develop business for the company. Additionally, Henry advises owners and construction leaders on how to effectively use lean tools to work more efficiently to reduce waste. He’s been in the industry for over 35 years, starting as a union sheet metal worker for Local 104 before rising to the general superintendent. He’s passionate about implementing Lean practices throughout the industry and educating construction professionals on effectively incorporating DEI principles into their projects. Henry currently sits on the Associated General Contractors of California’s Board of Directors and the Lean Construction Institute’s (LCI) Board of Directors as Chair. In 2023, Henry was awarded Chair of the Year after serving six years on the Associated General Contractors of America’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and the 2018 recipient of the LCI’s Pioneer Award. He’s the author of Seven Principles: Creating Success in the Construction Industry.
