On the Road with Amr: The Path to Innovation

on-the-Road-with-Amr-WORLD-MAP

I’ve been on a global quest for the latest innovations in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. While on this journey, I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing industry leaders across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the United States, gathering insights on how they’re thinking outside the construction box to work more efficiently. And I’d like to share what I’ve learned.

In this new blog series, On the Road with Amr: The Path to Innovation, I’m seeking experts in the field who are increasing construction quality and speed, maintaining the integrity and safety of their workforce, and advocating for sustainable materials business practices.

A tall order, but it’s being done.

They’re drawing inspiration from technologies used in other industries, like automotive—and it’s working.

Their secret? Bringing digital prefabrication workflows into construction. Leveraging BIM data and design models in the fabrication process of construction elements offers significant cost and time savings compared to traditional methods while delivering high-quality products. With the ability to quickly produce various building components and spaces, from historic replications to new designs, the possibilities are endless.

So, how do we pave the way for industrialized construction to become the future standard in our industry? I’ll ask this question to the experts on my journey as I interview and report on the innovation happening within their business today and what opportunities may exist in the future.

My journey starts in Melbourne, Australia. Here, I’ll meet with Eddie Pallotta, Operations Director at SYNC Industries, a company renowned for manufacturing high-quality, customized bathrooms, kitchens, and laundries in large volumes, and Nick van den Berg, the Cofounder & CEO of Fologram, a prominent mixed reality developer.

Check back in to see who else I’m speaking with and how they’re changing the world through prefab. You won’t want to miss it!
