Sharing Data in Cloud-Based Platforms: Avoiding Risks, Liability & Disputes

Speaker: May Winfield, Associate Director, BuroHappold

Whilst cloud-based platforms powerfully connect project teams and data, this very ability to connect in real time – with decisions and actions made based on the connected information – brings a host of potential unintended and avoidable misunderstandings, increased liability, and risks. In this class, you will be given practical, useful advice and tips on reducing risk and clarifying parties' rights and obligations via clear process, guidance, and terms.

Redefining Project Handover & Closeout

Speaker: Aditya Thakur, Senior Group Product Manager, Lifecycle Data Management, Autodesk

In this session, we will explore practical case studies and best practices for how industry leaders are reducing schedules for commissioning and transferring data to owners, and creating stronger relationships along the way. This session will also examine how digitisation is creating a new vision for the role of the construction project manager of the future, as well as explore the upcoming technology and innovation trends that may affect your business.

Behind the Numbers - How We Can Improve Construction KPIs

Speaker: Matthew Keen, Senior Industry Strategist, Autodesk

The construction industry has a perception problem and often appears near the bottom of the list when talking about productivity, investment in research and development, and industries that young people want to work in. Each company looks to improve its performance year on year, and this gradual improvement has helped more workers come home safely each day, and incrementally reduce risk. This session will explore the key performance indicators (KPIs) used in the industry, explore if they are the correct KPIs in a rapidly changing industry, and look at ways to improve performance to hit short-term and long-term business goals.

Developing BIM 360 Capability in Kenya to Optimise Construction of the Largest Waste Recycling Facility in East Africa

Speaker: William Kemoli, Lead Civil Engineer, Sanergy, Inc

Sanergy is a social enterprise based in Nairobi, Kenya, that safely collects and treats 12,000 tons of waste, converting it into valuable products: insect-based proteins derived from black soldier flies for animal feed, organic fertiliser, and biomass fuel briquettes. This model provides a closed-loop, zero-waste solution that ensures waste is transformed into high-quality, sustainable products. We are in the process of scaling up our production of insect-based animal protein to convert roughly 70,000 tons per year of organic waste into 3,600 tons of animal feed through the construction of a new advanced facility. In this session, we will explore the challenges faced when rolling out a new technology-based way of working in construction within the context of an African country, and the benefits achieved.

What Is Autodesk Construction Cloud

Speaker: John Sanner, Technical Marketing Manager, Autodesk

Also available in German, French, Russian, and Spanish. Search by Language filters on our sessions page.

Introduced at Autodesk University 2019, Autodesk Construction Cloud brings together the most powerful portfolio of construction management software products in the industry, supporting workflows spanning all phases of construction—from design, to planning, to building, to operations. There is tremendous breadth of supported workflows, depth of capabilities in each of the software products, and connectivity of data between those products. Over the past year, Autodesk has focused on three main areas of advancement with Construction Cloud: continuing investment into improving Assemble, BuildingConnected, PlanGrid, and BIM 360 software; delivering more integrations and connectivity between the products; and building a unified platform. This class will show how Autodesk Construction Cloud has advanced over the course of the last 12 months, and we’ll explore the workflows from design through operations that can be supported by the products.
