Getting started with stormwater and hydraulic modeling software may feel like a big task, but it doesn’t have to be an expensive one. We’ve compiled comprehensive training courses to get you and your team up to speed on InfoWorks ICM, and they are all entirely free. With our series of video and written instructional models, you can go from complete beginner to power user. After you’re done with the initial learning course, we have many more tutorials that can help you further strengthen your hydraulic and hydrologic modeling skills.
All of this learning content is:
- Ready when you are: You don’t need to wait. You can start learning immediately and progress at your own pace.
- Completely free: It’s all accessible to everyone, with or without an Autodesk account (which is also free).
- Here when you need it: You can revisit the material anytime. Check your knowledge retention or brush up on your skills, as needed.
In this post, we’ll outline all the on-demand learning content available for InfoWorks ICM. We can bucket all of your options into “3 Ts” – Training, Tutorials, and Technicals.
1. Training: Take the full InfoWorks ICM course
Our in-depth InfoWorks ICM Training Course is meticulously designed to help users get acquainted with the essentials and advanced features of this powerful hydraulic modeling tool. This course is comprehensive (a little over 10 hours) and is filled with quick assessments to ensure you understand important details for each module. We recommend you sign in with your Autodesk account so you can keep track of your progress through each unit of the course.
2. Tutorials: Tackle the software feature-by-feature
If you want to pick and choose based on activities you want to perform inside the app, consider another popular course, the InfoWorks ICM Basics video tutorial series. We’ve embedded all 32 of the course’s consecutive videos into a single One Water Blog post, along with a downloadable database file that you can plug into InfoWorks ICM to follow along or experiment with. The playlist also exists on YouTube, if you prefer to watch it there, but make sure you download the sample database file from the blog so you can install it, which is the topic of the first video.
You can find even more tutorials about specific details of the software by exploring the Learning Catalog, which has various training modules across many different Autodesk products. You can filter by product or search for specific topics that meet your needs. For example, using the filter to specify content about InfoWorks ICM returns 117 modules and 21 curated lists. That’s a lot of learning content!
3. Technicals: Go deep with the Technical Information Hub
To further support your learning journey, the InfoWorks ICM Technical Information Hub collects a lot of nitty-gritty details on one page. Need a download? Looking for release notes? Got an idea for our public product roadmap? Want to do some coding? Question about licensing? Stuck and need one-on-one help? This is the hub where we hope you’ll find everything and anything else you need.
Keep learning, keep growing
We also publish a lot of content right here on the One Water Blog that might interest you, like Water Drop workflow videos, product update posts, and very readable customer stories that detail how water professionals use our software to solve real-world problems.
