Lines appear over transparent hatch patterns when plotted to PDF from AutoCAD

Issue:

When plotting transparent hatch patterns to PDF from AutoCAD or Civil 3D, they display with diagonal lines across them.

Sometimes, the lines are dark horizontal or vertical lines, and can be random.

Solution:

Follow these steps:

  1. Check that you have the latest AutoCAD updates (see Install Updates, Add-ons, and Enhancements).
  2. If the issue remains, do one of the following:
  • Try opening the plot with a different PDF viewer.
  • Use a different plotter to create the PDF.
  • Change the solid hatch to a gradient hatch with the same color 1 and color 2ribbon show the workflow
