3D stereophotogrammetry of a Bladder Stone, also named Vescical Stone or in this case Urolith. Commonly occurring in animals, it forms, in most of the case, by over saturation of urine with crystals, eventually resulting in a stone formation. The stone forms around a nidus, which can consist of white blood cells, bacteria and organic matrix mixed with crystals (the whitish parts) or crystals alone. This particular specimen reaches a volume size of roughly 0.5 m3 and a weight of approximately 1Kg. The original specimen used for 3D reconstruction belongs to the collection of the Museum of Pathological-Anatomy at Università degli Studi of Palermo, Italy.
