    An affordable prosthetic leg

    The leg is designed in such a way that no metals are used as to reduce the weight of the leg and is fully made up of composite materials. The material cost comes only around 5500 INR TO 6000 INR. The design is so simple that it has a knuckle joint in the knee and it helps the person to walk like a normal human leg.

    Another type of leg is a design for Below-Knee amputated persons. The Knee itself provides the movement. The material used is High Density Polyethylene. The total cost for manufacturing comes below 3000 INR making it affordable for Lower-Middle class families.A model prototype was 3D-printed with ABS as material. Additionally two angular-drafted components are assembled between the socket and leg to provide Knee-like movement instead of Knuckle-Joint.
