"The code execution cannot proceed because VCOMP140.DLL was not found" when starting Autodesk software

Issue:

When launching an Autodesk software product, the following error message appears:
 

dwgviewr.exe - System Error

The code execution cannot proceed because VCOMP140.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

Causes:

  • Damaged or missing Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library files.
  • Corrupted installation.

Solution:

Repair or Uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 

Reinstall the Visual C++ from Programs and Features in Control Panel. See How to remove and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libraries and reboot the system.

Note: In some cases, the Autodesk software will also need to be uninstalled and reinstalled with Broswer Download method.
