Issue:

How to access automatic backups of Revit models.

Solution:

Identify Revit model type

The recovery options will vary depending on the type of Revit model you are working with.
File TypeHow to identify?
Non-worksharedThis type of model will generally be saved on the local system, and there will be no separate central model or need to synchronize, like with workshared models.
File-based worksharingThis type of model will generally have a central model stored on a local file server, and local model which is synchronized with the central.
Revit Server EnterpriseThis type is similar to File-based, but the central model is stored on a Revit Server, and models are accessed in the open dialog using the Revit Server icon (in Places).
Revit cloud modelsThis type of model is accessed through Revit Home and there is no need to manually create local models, instead the cloud model is opened and synchronized.
