No Revit files show in the External Resource section and cloud files are unable to be linked in Revit

Issue:

Users reported that when linking files in Revit:

  • Models are missing in their folder locations under the External Resource section.
  • Some folders and files may show.

  • Others show as empty even though files (Packages) have been published or consumed using BIM 360 Design Collaboration. 

Status:

Investigation of the incident is complete and a resolution has not been determined at this time.

Workaround:

Rename Project

  1. Go to your Cloud Project.
  2. Navigate to the Project Admin page.
  3. Go to the Settings tab.
  4. Select the Edit button.
  5. Remove the forbidden character from the project name and select Save.
  6. Attempt to re-link the cloud model in Revit. The desired model should now appear in its folder in External Resources.

Rename Folder/File

  1. Go to your Cloud Project.
  2. Find the folder/file that hosts the cloud model you are trying to link in Revit. 
  3. Right click on the affected folder/file. 
  4. Select Rename.
  5. Remove any spaces at the beginning or end of the folder/file name.
  6. Remove any special characters from the folder/file name.
  7. Click the checkmark to save your changes. 
  8. Attempt to re-link the cloud model in Revit. The desired model should now appear in its folder in External Resources.
