How to understand and address warnings in a Revit model

Issue:

When dealing with numerous unresolved warnings in a Revit model, the following questions may arise:
  • Are some more critical than others?
  • Can some be ignored?
  • Are others more likely to cause performance issues and should be prioritized?

Solution:

Ideally, all warnings should be addressed and the total number of unresolved warnings should be zero. But in reality, this is a tall order in most projects. So the pragmatic approach is to resolve as many of the warnings that you reasonably can.

This may require an assessment or triage of which warnings need to be prioritized for resolving. This assessment needs to be made in the context of your Revit model and project. For references about these warnings, which may help in your assessment, please see the following:
