Issue:

When creating text objects or text styles in AutoCAD and AutoCAD-based products (including AutoCAD for Mac), an OpenType font installed on the system is not available to use in the program.
In AutoCAD for Mac an OpenType font may be partially supported, available in some elements of the program and not others.

Causes:

Postscript is not supported in AutoCAD applications.

Solution:

SHX fonts, TrueType fonts, and OpenType fonts that use TrueType outlines (not PostScript outlines) can be used in AutoCAD.

To determine whether an OpenType font contains PostScript or TrueType outlines, view the font file within the operating system:

Arial - Open type font with TrueType outlines

As a work-around, try the following steps to make the OpenType fonts (that use PostScript outlines) available for AutoCAD:

  1. Convert the OpenType fonts (OTF) to TrueType fonts (TTF) using any online converter.
  2. Remove all the OpenType fonts that are already installed in the folder C:\Windows\Fonts.
  3. Install the converted TrueType font by choosing 'Install' on the right-click menu.
  4. Restart the AutoCAD program.

Products:

AutoCAD for Mac; AutoCAD LT for Mac; AutoCAD; AutoCAD LT;
