How to check what version of Maya is installed

Issue:

How to check which version of Maya is installed, including service packs or updates.

Solution:

To view the installed version of Maya, follow these steps:
  • On Windows:
  1. Go to Help > About Maya.
  2. Check the Version.

  • On Mac:
  1. Select Maya (upper left corner) > About Maya.
  2. Check the Version
A new window will populate that will show the version (year) as well as the service pack or update if it is installed. Updates and Service Packs are separate downloads that are installed separately from the initial installation - regardless of when that installation occurs.

Below is an example of Maya with no service pack or update installed (not listed after 2015).

Below is an example of Maya 2015 with Service Pack 6 installed (SP6 is listed after the year):

If the update or service pack is not listed after the year, then the installation was incomplete or damaged. Follow this guide to locate and install the latest updates from the Autodesk Account portal: Where to find Updates and Add-ons for Maya
