Issue:

How to export a CAD design from Fusion.

Solution:

Export from Fusion

  1. In Fusion, choose File > Export.
  2. In the Export dialog box, for Type, specify the file type.

Note: Some file types require cloud translation, which can take some extra time.

  1. Specify the local export location by clicking the three dot icon. 
  2. Click export.

The following file types can be exported from Fusion:

  • Autodesk Fusion Archive Files (*.f3d).
  • Autodesk Inventor 2018 Files (*.ipt).
  • DWG Files (*.dwg).
  • DXF Files (*.dxf).
  • FBX Files (*.fbx).
  • IGES Files (*.igs *.iges).
  • OBJ Files (*.obj).
  • SAT Files (*.sat).
  • SketchUp Files (*.skp).
  • SMT Files (*.smt).
  • STEP Files (*.stp *.step).
  • STL Files (*.stl).

Note: The model might be a distributed design that contains XREFs. If no option is available when exporting the Fusion Archive File. It will be exported as an .f3z. 

 

Export from Fusion Team

  1. Sign into Fusion Team in the browser. 
  2. Open the desired project and locate the desired Fusion design.
  3. Click the Export icon in the upper right corner. 
  4. Choose the file type.

  1. Then an email with the exported file will be sent.
