Welcome to the third objective of this course.

In this objective, we are going to familiarize ourselves

with the Model Coordination Interface.

The Model Coordination Interface has

got a number of different tabs and subtabs,

so it is important for us to get used to this interface.

Currently, as you can see, I'm on the Document Management

Interface of our project.

And as I showed you earlier, I'll go to the module

that I need to activate which in this case
00:29
is Model Coordination.

I'll right-click on it, and open it in new tab.

Right now, I'm in the Models tab,

and I can see these items listed under models.

But please note that these are all not Revit models.

They are actually the 3D views that we
00:49
included in the published sets of these models.

So for example, these five 3D views

were included in the published set of the MEP model.

These two views were included in the published

set of Structure model, and these two in the Architecture

model.

And currently, we are looking at this coordination space

here that we call Shared File Coordination.

If I click on this dropdown list,

I can change this to IFC coordination space.

And now I can see the two IFC files in that folder.

Let me switch back to the Shared Files Coordination space.

To search for a specific model when

you've got a large number of models and views,

you can use this search field.

Alternatively, you can filter the models

based on the contributor, company, or date.

This area here allows you to look at your models only,

or clashes with your models.

Now if I switch over to the Clashes tab, on this tab,

I'm currently on the Active subtab.

And in this Active subtab, I can see

a matrix of the clashes of these views with the other views.

Now, sometimes when you've got a large number of models

and views, it gets a bit hard to find the information

that you're after.

And that's why we've got this all models dropdown list,

because I can go to this dropdown list,

and only display the clashes between the views or models

that I want to review.

So for example, in this case, I can say Hide All.

And so I want to only review the clashes between the 3D

Mechanical view, and the Structure clash detection view.

And when I hit Apply, I can now see these clashes here.

If these clashes are grouped by the Mechanical elements,

it's telling me that there are 30 clashes.

But if grouped by the structure elements, there are 13 clashes.

And as a rule of thumb, we grouped the clashes

based on the elements that need to be modified.

So in this case, I can click on 30 clashes

grouped by Mechanical.

It now opens these two views, federates them,

and shows me these 30 clashes grouped by the Mechanical

elements.

Pressing the left mouse button lets

me orbit around these clashes.

In the clashes area, I can see all these clashes grouped.

And if I, for example, click on this Oval clashes,

I can see that one element is clashing with three items here.

Similarly, if I scroll down, I can

click on any of these clashes, and it

Pressing the Escape key on the keyboard

displays the elements in the Model Appearance.

And clicking on any of these clashes again,

Now in my case, because I'm going

to come back to this Mechanical versus Structure clash

save these two models federated together as a view.

And to do that from the left panel, I click on Models.

And now, I can save this as a view.

I'll call this as Mech Ductwork versus Structure.

Now while saving this view, I've got two options.

I can save it as a Private view, or I can save it

as a Published view.

If it is a Private view, only myself, and the other product

But if I take this view to Published,

Similarly, I can say I want to see the clashes only

deselect the 3D Mechanical view, and I'll

And I'm going to save this also as a 3D view

So this way on this Active subtab,

we can either review the clashes between the selected Models

that are created based on these clashes,
