Create a surface model from the corridor in Civil 3D

and the grading quantities for the roadway

that is coming up to our Bridgeway here.

The first thing we need to do for that

is to create a surface on the corridor

for the subgrade information.

So I'll select on the corridor.

Go to Corridor Surfaces.

Under the Surfaces tab, I'll select and add a Surface.

This is the road subgrade.

I'm going to go to the Data type Links

and choose the code of Datum, and click the Plus sign,

and add that in.

I'm also going to go to the Boundaries tab, right-click,

and corridor extense is out of boundary.

This should create a boundary on the outside edge

and rebuild the corridor so that we

can get just the surface in that area there.

I am going to hit Escape and let go of the corridor.

I'm going to hit Save, so we can save the file.

And then, I'm going to create the sample lines

along this roadway so that we can measure

the volumes for this side that's on the West side
