With all the options set, it's time to create views to show our clients.
00:07
In this video, I would like to create several different views with our different options and control them through visibility graphics.
00:16
Then I'd like to add those views to different drawing sheets.
00:21
So let's jump into Revit to see how that is done. Okay.
00:25
As we've done previously in our recent files, let's open up the architectural model.
00:31
It is a central model and a local copy will be made of it.
00:35
And we want to override our existing copy of our local copy.
00:40
Now, what we want to do is to make two different 3D views of our model,
00:47
showing the different design options for the front.
00:50
We've already set our 3D view design options as our starting view.
00:56
So simply right click on that, and go to "Duplicate View", "Duplicate", for the new 3D view that we just created.
01:05
Right click on that and go to "Rename," and call it "DO-front-red sign".
01:13
For design options, Front Red Sign.
01:18
In our Properties of the 3D view, enable the section box, so we can start narrowing down what's going to be displayed.
01:28
Click on the section box that got enabled, and just close all four sides.
01:37
So we're zeroing in on just the front of the model that we can show to the client.
01:51
So adjust all six sides. That's great.
01:58
Now, right click on that 3D view again.
02:01
We're going to make another duplicate view.
02:05
This one, we're going to right click, rename, and call it "DO-front-fancy sign".
02:14
Okay. Now, what we need to do is to change the visibility graphics for this particular view,
02:21
to ensure that it's set to the right design option.
02:25
I could type in VG for visibility graphics, but this time,
02:30
I'm going to go to the view tab, and here we have our visibility graphics.
02:35
And you'll notice that now we have an additional tab at the end for design options, for the building front.
02:44
I want to select this as my fancy sign which is the primary, nothing has changed.
02:53
But it's always a good idea to change the visibility graphics to ensure that it's set to that particular design option.
03:01
I'm going to enable my DO front red side.
03:06
Once again, go to my visibility graphics, and under design options,
03:12
I'll set this one to my red side.
03:18
OK. Now you will notice that this one shows my red sign with a traditional 2014 Revit drive.
03:27
Whereas my other view shows the fancy sign with the 21st Century Revit drive.
03:36
Now we could repeat that same procedure for the garden roof.
03:40
However, you may recall that we had created a garden roof 3D view.
03:46
So double click on that to make it active.
03:51
All I need to do is to hide the various levels.
03:55
So I can do that by selecting one of the levels.
03:59
And in my contextual tab under views,
04:04
click on the light bulb pull down and we want to hide the category.
04:10
Let's duplicate that view, right click, duplicate view duplicate.
04:17
As before let's right click on it and rename it, and call it DO-Roof-Red for design options, roof red.
04:29
Right click on that again. Duplicate view, duplicate.
04:35
Right click once again, rename it, it gets a bit redundant, and let's call it DO-roof-blue.
04:46
Once again, right click duplicate view and duplicate.
04:52
Right click again and rename it, and we'll call this one DO-Roof-None.
05:02
By naming them all DO they all come in alphabetical order.
05:06
So it'll be a little bit easier to place them on a sheet.
05:10
Now, we need to change the visibility graphics of this under design options
05:17
for my garden roof. We'll set this one to no roof.
05:26
For the blue roof view, go to our visibility graphics,
05:33
and once again, set this to our primary view which is blue roof.
05:40
And finally for the DO-Roof-Red,
05:43
visibility graphics once again under design options, and set this to red roof.
05:52
Great. Now, all we need to do is to create a sheet showing these different design options.
06:00
In my project browser, I go down to my sheets category,
06:05
Right click on sheets. All I want to create a new sheet.
06:09
I'm going to use my horizontal title block,
06:14
and go to my 3D views that are all in alphabetical order,
06:21
and drag my two front views into my sheet.
06:35
Ok. So here we're showing the two different design options for the front,
06:41
and you can repeat the same procedure for the roof with the three options and then annotate the sheet as you see fit.
06:51
Now, we can present this to the client and have them decide which design options they like. We'll look at that next.
