I'm Michael Kilkelly. And in this video, I'm going to give you a brief introduction to the course.

Room Data Sheets are often required in architectural projects,

particularly for complex building types like sports arenas, hospitals or laboratories.

I once worked on a basketball arena project where we needed to produce a book containing all the rooms,

their program requirements, equipment, et cetera.

The book was gonna be used by the owner to verify the room requirements,

so that they could comment on any additional items that we may have missed.

For building that large, the book was over 1000 pages, and it required a lot of work to produce.

Now, at that time, we were using AutoCAD.

So, we built a separate database just to manage all the data and produce the Room Data Sheets.

It was a huge effort.

Now, Revit makes the process a lot easier, since a lot of the program in Room Data can be stored inside the model.

However, there are still some things about the process that can trip you up.

At the end of this course, you'll have a much better understanding of how to prepare your model to create Room Data Sheets.

We're gonna use this healthcare project as an example,

so you'll go through the process of setting the model up, adding Shared Parameters and exporting and importing your Revit data.
